Tom - Beta Carotene Problem

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

Tom,
Wasn’t it you that mentioned awhile back something about yellowing
skin possibly from too much beta carotene? Do you still have a
problem with that?
I just read in a book that hypothyroidism can cause problems
metabolizing beta carotene. Do you have any hypothyroid symptoms?

Meatballs

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

have been mentioned as a handy snack in the past. Does
anyone want to tell me how to make them?
I make ground beef jerky and my sons and I really enjoy it? I’m
curious does making the meatballs take more or less time then making
jerky? Do you think there is any benefit to one or the other?

D’Adamo Health Library Books

Friday, August 17th, 2007

I read on Dr. D’s website what the rest of the D’Adamo Health Library
books are going to be about and thought others might be interested if
they hadn’t seen the info.
As everyone probably already knows the first two were the Cancer,
Fight It with the Blood Type Diet® and Diabetes, Fight It with the
Blood Type Diet® books.
The remaining six books to come throughout the next two years will
highlight Arthritis and Cardiovascular Health (May 2004), Fatigue and
Allergies (January 2005), and Menopause and Prostate health (May
2005).

Sweet Potato Flour Brownies - Update

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

With all of this talk of grains lately I thought I would give an
update on my use of sweet potato flour. I made sweet potato flour
brownies twice based on the recipe that was posted. I posted my
results after the first time when I thought the brownies tasted a
little weird. I blamed it on the honey, which was pretty old, and
maybe cooking them a little too long. The second time using sugar
instead of honey they tasted good, but were way too sweet for my
taste. Next time I will try them with a lot less sugar. The second
time I also used less egg so the brownies were less cake like, which
I prefer.
I was going to wait to post my results until I got them right, but I
thought others might want to go ahead and try the sweet potato flour
for some brownies or something else.
I would like to come up with some other ideas of things I could use
the sweet potato flour for. I think any recipe would need to include

wheat allergy

Saturday, August 4th, 2007

Hi Everyone,
I’m having a hard time staying away from wheat. I notice that I HAVE been
feeling much better the past couple of weeks without the wheat … haven’t had
to take an antacid since, those types of things. But I’ve also noticed that at
times I’m feeling very ’spacey’ and I’m wondering if this is about the lack of
wheat or what that might be.
For instance, yesterday I had rice cereal for breakfast, (with a very little bit
of skim milk) and a banana and I just horrible all morning. I wanted to gorge
myself on sweets and junk food later on in the day. (And I DID. Today I’m
feeling like I crawled out from under a rock.)
Any words of wisdom from anyone who has been doing this for awhile?

Hi, I’m new

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

Hi everyone,
I’m Annie from northern Canada. I went to a naturopath this past week and
discovered that I’m allergic to wheat. She advised me to get Dr. D’amado’s book
on blood typing (which I did) but I’m looking for support from others who are
going this route.
Hoping to get to know you all as I learn about this different way of eating.

Jill, I’m so glad that the blood type diet is working well for you so far. I
have had a very similar experience ~ I can tell in my body that it is working
for me. I have to laugh though, hearing about the raw foodists who claimed
there is no scientific evidence for the BTD! www.dadamo.com has so much
information about studies, etc. I go by what works for me in my body, but for
folks who want to look at the science, there’s a lot out there!
Axel, count me in for the water tasting party (I gotta get me some gray sea
salt), but I’ll pass on the licking, unless I can bring my fiance’ ;-) Paulita

tweaking TYPEbase search @ dadamo.com

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

Donna Mae,
I just used TYPEbase to pull up a list of only beneficial foods for O.
In ‘Search For’ I entered Beneficial and in ‘Search By’ I entered O.
I think that will pull up what you are looking for.
Paulita
PS. CindyK ~ are you drinking one ounce of water per every 2 lbs of body
weight? I find that by focusing on my water intake, the other drinks are less
appealing.
