Eczema is about to drive poor me mad

Friday, August 31st, 2007

Hi,
I recognize some of your names. I was on ER4YT for several months but
drifted away from it, which may not have been very wise.
I’ve been eating a lot of animal proteins and cultured milk, ezekiel
bread, wheat bread sometimes, cheese, vegetables, fruit, and not
paying much attention to ER4YT.
Eczema on my scalp and face is embarrassing, uncomfortable, and awful.
I’d do anything to improve it at this point. It’s getting slowly
worse, not better. I am sooo fed up with it. My hair is thin and
falling out too.
I’ve heard people say that it takes 6 to 12 months away from dairy to
clear up eczema in adults.
I still have my LR4YT book. I don’t know of I can adhere to ER4YT
again for very long. I know I can quit dairy, and will, right now.
It’s the foods like cabbage, apples, oranges, and other O avoids that

where to find organic, grass-fed beef

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

If there are local butcher shops in your area, go see them. They often do
have organic, grass-fed beef. If they don’t normally carry it, they can usually
order it. This goes for range-fed veal, lamb, chicken, even organic sausages
and eggs.
Also shop around on-line. Most of the on-line providers are expensive,
however they do have special sales that can be economical. They ship the meat
in a
styrofoam cooler filled with dry ice. We have ordered a few times like this,
and the meat always arrives in the “deep freeze”, so it is safe.
I didn’t know Safeway was carrying such things these days. I do know that
Raley’s carries a few lines of organic beef. Don’t know if they’re grass-fed,
but at least they don’t have all the chemicals.
Be sure to ASK, ASK, ASK. The grocery stores are notorious for mis-leading
labelling. I had been buying “Fresh Atlantic Salmon” at Albertson’s. One day
when I went in, it was sold out, and they only had “Pacific Farm-Raised

Dr. Price’s foundation

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Weston A. Price Memorial Foundation which was founded in 1965 is currently
the Pottenger-Price Nutrition Foundation:
www.price-pottenger.org
I think there may be another one. I know Healing Traditions
newsletter(Sallie Fallon’s deal) carries Dr. Price’s name as well. This may
be apples and apples because I do not know the structure there.
Pootenger was the guy that observed cats and manipulated their diets to
prove or disprove certain theories.
Be well,
Joy
have gleaned a lot of useful information; do a search for Weston A. Price
Foundation and that should take you right there. I am an O non-secretor in

but this was not one of them. Check it out and good luck with your new
culinary adventures in the land of ER4YT. Watch out for those sugars and

Teeth post greens and grassfed beef Thomas’ food lists for blended

Monday, August 27th, 2007

I have had that tooth sensation after certain veggies- cooked spinach, I
think, but I am unsure.
We eat our own grassfed which we do grow organically and do NOT finish on
corn.
Thanks Thomas, I will look that up.
Way late,
Joy

where to get grass fed beef

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

Hi,
Where does everyone get their beef? I went to that eatwild.com site
and the nearest farm is over an hour from me which is not something
I can do at this time. Are there any mail order places that are
good? I am near Cleveland, Ohio.
Also, why is olive oil benefecial but olives are bad?
I have really noticed lately that when I eat too many avoids, my
rosacea really gets worse. Does anyone else have rosacea and notice
that this diet helps them? I sure haven’t found anything else that
works.
Thats it for now.

Got all kids pegged- cool thing my Mom is considering

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

Hey,
Thomas thanks for the good buys on the blood test kits.
Truman was A which I expected. Jordan was O which was pretty
obvious, and Donovan (uncertain of his type) turned out to be A like
Dad. Therefore, Jordan is obviously the superior child in my brood-
LOL.
So, I am going to gear my meals to this blend (A and O)which I do
not think will be difficult, but will take some trial and error. Why
should almost vegetarian and heavy meat eaters have a difficult time
eating together? :) My kids go to a really small school- 35 kids total in grades K-12.
They have a soda and snack (kid crack) machines. I visited Mom last
night, and she asked about these machines, and said she would
consider furnishing the school with a crate of fruit every week if
they would remove the crap from the premises. She was also thinking

PLacebo-ish? a little update

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Hey,
OK, now this BTD is scaring me. I am feeling so much better- sleep/waking,
energy so I begin thinking there must be a catch. I am as easily suggestable
as the average person- wondering if all this improvement is just a placebo
effect?
I am weirding out at how quickly my cravings have changed. Last night, I was
dishing out ice cream for the troops, considered taking a bite of it in the
process, but actually had the thought, “some fruit would TASTE better.” I
have no idea my percentage of compliance, but am hitting raw greens and red
meat pretty hard- had taco salad this AM. Overdoing eggs a bit by LR
standards. Grains are not in the picture- except for emergency protein bars.
Anyone know a prot. bar- D’adamo doesn’t have one, does he?
I suspect that I will not have to fantasize about killing people who are
indulging in the lesser foods of my “past”. (This was from the other night’s
guests and their abominable poppyseed cream cake.)

Food Combining and the ‘Tude

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

Belinda, I don’t practice food combining either. I plan one day to learn
more about it. Right now I stick with the BTD principle of keeping food and
meals simple. Just a few ingredients, simply prepared.
I have had such fantastic results both in weight loss and overall health,
just by following Dr. D’Adamo’s guidelines, and in switching to as much organic
food as possible, that I keep busy just following that learning curve and
perfecting that lifestyle. I also have been pretty busy trying to get the hubby
to
accept these basic premises. When I get him more on board with the entire
BTD (we’re almost there, and he’s lost 20 pounds now) I would like both of us to
learn the principles of food combining. This is a step by step process, and
you have to incorporate new ideas and practices into your life according to
what works for you and your family.
I will agree with you that, at times, those who have been doing this a long
time will give us THE WORD with a bit of a heavy hand. I know from being on
