PLacebo-ish? a little update
Hey,
OK, now this BTD is scaring me. I am feeling so much better- sleep/waking,
energy so I begin thinking there must be a catch. I am as easily suggestable
as the average person- wondering if all this improvement is just a placebo
effect?
I am weirding out at how quickly my cravings have changed. Last night, I was
dishing out ice cream for the troops, considered taking a bite of it in the
process, but actually had the thought, “some fruit would TASTE better.” I
have no idea my percentage of compliance, but am hitting raw greens and red
meat pretty hard- had taco salad this AM. Overdoing eggs a bit by LR
standards. Grains are not in the picture- except for emergency protein bars.
Anyone know a prot. bar- D’adamo doesn’t have one, does he?
I suspect that I will not have to fantasize about killing people who are
indulging in the lesser foods of my “past”. (This was from the other night’s
guests and their abominable poppyseed cream cake.)
OH, did the blood test on my 3 year old- he was A+ as suspected like Dad. I
will do the other guys this aft for their types- thinking oldest is O and
the middle guy probably A. They are off drinking milk, and I am slowly
getting the rest of the ice cream out the door. Middle guy begged for sweet
potato for lunch (I know Yams are avoids for As, but he is still
undetermined blood type until later today.)
Finally, back to the placebo deal. Do folks really feel this much better
this soon after trying the BTD? The only thing that I am having a little
problem with is I am taking much more time accessing certain information out
of my brain at times. I know the brain runs on carbs- should I eat more
fruit- currently eating(organic) a banana and apple each day with some dreid
fruit here and there. Could it just be detox still, or my body
reconditioning itself into homoestasis after being knocked over with so much
avoids over the years-especially this past year?
Thanks for reading and feedback,
Joy

The improvement in my health after 30 days was incredible for me but I was
very sick at the time I started. I had the brain thing when I quit smoking.

Don, Thanks for hsaring your research. I am pretty sure the bar
thing will not be a big focus, but thusfar, i am finding having a
plan B in place helps alot.

Hello Libby,
I am very new also to BTD, blood type diet. Welcome.
“Brain thing” is where I was having more trouble accessing
particular vocabulary in my mind- I think it is clearing up.
Probably detox from starchy carbs.
“Placebo effect” is a researcher’s term for people feeling better no
matter what diet change they make or take (in the case of
medication). Placebo often refers to a sugar pill given to control
groups during research. Placebo usually hits about 30% of folks in a
double blind study.
I used that term because I am feeling sooooo good and sooo much
energy that I was unsure if it was a head trip, placebo-effect,
because of so many tangible changes I’ve made. I said it less than
seriously because it was mostly a passing thought, but those
thoughts often need addressing “Taking all thoughts captive…” so
the false thoughts do not gain power.
Again welcome. Love to hear more about you and yours.

To paraphrase, someone said the diet was making them kinda sponge brained and
