rice and constipation
Someone posted a message about rice and rice cakes, and seemed surprised
these foods caused them to be constipated. I recall that many doctors prescribe
the “B.R.A.T.” diet to cure diarrhea. Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast. These
foods are supposed to clog you up. Don’t know the reason why, but apparently
rice is well-known for this property.
Please keep in mind, even the “neutral” grains are not that helpful to us.
They are only neutral because they do not ravage our digestive and immune
systems as wheat and corn do. However, the absence of harm does not mean they
are
helpful. They don’t help us at all. Dr. D’Adamo points out the neutral
grains because he knows sometimes we all just really want a carb or a grain.
So,
then have a neutral. You will still suffer some discomfort, but at least you
won’t be attacking your body with something truly dangerous. On the other
hand, don’t expect the neutral grains to make you feel great either.
