This is so true!!!! People new to the diet try to stay low fat, eat too
little protein, and trade avoid grains for neutral grains but they still eat
mostly grains and fruit because that’s what we’re PROGRAMMED to do. When I
started
the diet, I had just come out of the hospital from congestive heart failure
and was told the party line about low fat and high fiber. I discovered this
diet and tried to follow both, which is impossible. It was scarey to eat as
much protein and fat as they said but as a leap of faith I tried it because I
was
in big trouble and had nothing to lose. My cholesteral is now 122. You new
folks keep trying to substitute your grains when what you need to do is scrap
the old ideas and start eating protein, fat, and vegetables with an occasional
grain. Your body will come into balance and you’ll feel wonderful. Just
pretend that a steak is a big pill from the doctor.
Most of the people who quit the diet, quit because it’s hard, they don’t get
overnight results and they don’t make the transition from low fat high carb to
high fat and protein to see how great they feel. For those of you who quit,
we’ll be here when you come back because your physical condition will only get
worse.
