wheat allergy
Hi Everyone,
I’m having a hard time staying away from wheat. I notice that I HAVE been
feeling much better the past couple of weeks without the wheat … haven’t had
to take an antacid since, those types of things. But I’ve also noticed that at
times I’m feeling very ’spacey’ and I’m wondering if this is about the lack of
wheat or what that might be.
For instance, yesterday I had rice cereal for breakfast, (with a very little bit
of skim milk) and a banana and I just horrible all morning. I wanted to gorge
myself on sweets and junk food later on in the day. (And I DID. Today I’m
feeling like I crawled out from under a rock.)
Any words of wisdom from anyone who has been doing this for awhile?

LOL–you started the detox process and then gave in and carbed out. Your
body let you know that those foods are poisons to you. Eat protein and fat.

If you’re an O, you need to become a meat person or you’ll get sicker and
sicker. You should eat mostly protein and fat.

Rice stuff is OK per D’Adamo for our diet HOWEVER I just learned that rice
cereals, espec. are HUGE glycemic index which means they will jump your
sugar levels up, then plunge, giving insulin reaction issues, and swiftly
dropping energy levels. It also leads some to become diabetics, with the
sugar highs and lows, if eat like this over time. Also it may cause you to
crave sugar, any sugars, sweets, bread or cake type carbs. I am sure you
don’t want to start out your day with that experience! I have noticed this
with my own body. We do need to learn to trust our own bodies…
When I began the ER diet in Dec I bought rice cereals. I ate them but was
not feeling satiated and was starving about 90 mins. later. Then I realized
the glycemic index in Jan and I am getting away from rice sources for snacks
(rice cakes) and dry cereals. So far, so good. Sometimes I eat rice with
dinner but it is a wild rice that is not the same as a puffed white rice
cereal, for example.

Thomas, I don’t really buy into the food combining thing.
Especially that fruit must be eaten separately and on an empty
stomach. I’ve never followed that and at 42 my doctor has been
commenting on how clean my liver is. Oh, and I haven’t done any
“cleansings” either. I’ve had fruit with cereal, trail mixes,
and fruit stuffed meats as well as curries with fruit.
your mileage may vary.

what is.
True, but again I combine and don’t have liver problems per your
example that started this discussion.
Sure. But I haven’t seen one instance in the Dr’s books that
says not to combine in fact his example meal plans have plenty of
examples that DO combine.
Well that generally won’t happen because I don’t see grapes as
breakfast food. But I have had grapes/raisins/apricots etc with
chicken and haven’t had a problem. Even after starting the diet.

It isn’t about the liver. It’s about stomach acid, reflux, and digestion
problems. I don’t usually worry about food combining because meat and
vegetables
is simple but I usually don’t eat fruit with vegetables either.

Thomas said it was hard on the liver. I’ve never had problems
with stomach acid, reflux etc but I guess I’m one of the lucky
ones there.

Because I have had numerous blood tests over the last 3 months
because of my anemia and my liver function tests show a VERY
clean liver. That’s why.
When I’m allowed to wake without an alarm clock, and it’s not
that time of the month, yes. I am definitely NOT a morning
person, but then we’ve talked about that. My heavy menstral
anemia makes me tired during that time of the month, but I’m
working on that.
Again, *I* don’t have a problem. I’m here for the BTD, NOT for a
food combining program. If I have to do both, well then I guess
I’m in the wrong place.
But then you’ve never answered my question about why Dr D’Adamo
doesn’t talk about food combining.

Where? Cuz I’ve certainly missed it and I’ve checked his meal
plans in CR4YT and the other books.

What if you are taking iron supplements?
