My dad sent me one recently but I was disconcerted by the
charcoal that floats free of the filter up above - even after a
couple of pitchers. So I just use it for making hot water for
tea and such since it's easier on the pot.

Has anyone tried the water filtered pitchers at Walmart made by Brita.
They're great and you can use local water. I want to try the sea salt thing
too.
That sounds very interesting.

Nah, I buy bottled for drinking at home (well water) and the
filter system is at work.
And my comment was about different types of water - not that any
one is better, just what I like.

I love Aquafina. Reverse osmosis is great. We even have one of
those filter/machines at work.

Hi, Max!
I buy my drinking and cooking water in bulk, at a store that distills it
and shoots some ozone through it. The ozone brings it to life. It is much
tastier, even without salt, than regular distilled water.

Unless you're buying that Japanese ice burg bottled water, chances are that
your bottled water is just plain water run through a water filter (what they
call a rain maker).

Our well had a problem in 5/03 and they did work on it. They added bleach
down into it because there was flaked rust floating in it. I still taste the
chlorine, and we do have a water filter system (big one in the basement) and
also we have a water softener. Yech. I buy bottled water.
I will try the experiment when my head cold is gone and my taste buds and
nose are back in business.
