Eggs and menu questions…Attn: Thomas

In Cook Right he also stresses that he is giving protein guidelines and that
it is not possible to break it out by gender, weight, height, etc. He says
there that he specificially that he doesn’t want to make an exact, exact
recommendation on quantity.
With that said I realize that some people really like absolutes. Some like
them, to be told what to do, just so they can make it easier for themselves.
Others like them to put themselves in a special category “I am the perfect
follower of this diet and anyone doing less is inferior!”.

Golly, I feel insulted somehow!! (I kid.)
My goal in all of this is to test what is right for me…to see what others
do…and collect opinions one way or the other. It is not to look perfect in
anyone’s eyes. I want what is right for me and my family. I am a person who
likes absolutes when it comes to food, that is true. Absolutes are used in the
beginning until it becomes habit. I am on a SEARCH for MY absolutes. It was
first about eggs. I LOVE eggs! How many is too many? Can I have 3 a day?? Two??
What about my 9 year old son?? What is OK for him? He loves eggs too! I used to
do 2 eggs and 4 egg whites until I was encouraged from this board to eat the
whole egg and not throw the yolk away. Ohhhhh…that was a GOOD day!!! Some

things are easy. Getting my son to eat protein is not a problem…but how much
is enough? Or too much? That is why I asked for people to send me a “sample”
meal plan of what they eat in a normal day. (Incidently, I have yet to receive
one!) You see?? I have all these protein questions and am trying to sort out
what is right. Fruits and vegetables are easy. Grains are easy. Dairy is easy.
It’s all easy for me except for figuring out how much meat/seafood/poultry and
eggs I can have. I read Dr. D’s “guidelines” but don’t see anywhere that it is
OK to step out of that box. And that is confusing me. Because then I have Thomas
suggesting that I should consume 1 gr of protein per pound of body weight…and
I trust Thomas too!!! (I like Thomas’s plan better!!) But that goes against Dr.
D’s plan. I mean, if I can fudge on the protein section and eat twice the amount
that he suggests, can I fudge on the other areas too and eat more of the other
things too?? If I up my protein intake, do I up my veggies and fruits and
grains, etc? You may be thinking “Oh, Coryn…don’t dwell on it so much and just
eat whatever is comfortable for you.” If left to my own devices, I would eat
protein 6 times a day. I love meat and fish and poultry….and eggs! But all
that would be too much, right? Or would that be acceptable? According to Thomas,
that would be OK. According to D’Adamo, that would be way too much. I wish I
could ask him personally…to know for sure instead of doing the “guessing game”
thing. I’ll get it figured out eventually. In the mean time, thanks for your
patience and not making me feel TOO silly while on my quest. It’s a little tough
to go out on that limb and ask questions (good ones or dumb ones)but it’s a
    necessary thing.

**Giving absolutes is tough and could be considered illegal.**
    What??? Illegal?? What???
**10 people in this group will be doing great on 10 different food schedules.**
Well. of COURSE I don’t think that everyone is doing the same thing. But it
never hurts to ask how much is too much. And not knowing how much is too much
can be detrimental to my health. I understand that Dr. D’s gives portion
recommendations and that those are not set in stone. I could eat 3 eggs, a
chicken breast, a huge piece of meat and fish or seafood all in the same
day…most cooked with olive oil. And that is not what he recommends. All I am
wondering is if that is OK…that’s all.
Bottom line is I need to win the lottery and hire a chef and hand him/her the
books and say “Make it so, #1″ ~she says in her best Patrick Stewart voice.~
Until then, I need to fend for myself. I just don’t want to eat too much fat or
cholesterol and drop dead because I’m not educated on what is too much when it
comes to this Blood Type Eating way of life. Of course, maybe I am asking a

question that can’t be answered. I guess I will just do whatever and if I drop
dead, then I will know I was doing it wrong!
Happy New Year and the best of health, happiness and love to you all.

Well said Kathy. Coryn, I think you’re used to following other diets that
say, “do this exactly this way and this diet will work.” much as I have over the
years. Read through Dr Ds answers to FAQs on his website and you’ll see over
and over where he discusses his diet as a guideline for you to fine tune.
Remember that this diet is about better health and that weight loss is a
byproduct. It is a journey of discovery for what your body needs to be healthy
    and
only you can determine that. Whether you follow rigid guidelines or not your
body will eventually detox and start telling you what it needs. Do what makes
you feel best for now. You’ll eventually get to the same place anyway. It’ll
be amazing how easy it will become.

It’s so unseasonably warm here that my outside plants are still blooming and
I actually had to water them. I sent a picture to my relatives who are ankle
deep in snow just to be a shit. The lawn better not start growing or I will
be mad. We need at least one good frost or we’ll have bugs the size of birds
    next year.
