I’m actually doing it!!
I want to thank everyone for the replies to my first post. Your
words helped me sift through additional info to really prepare to
being this journey!!
I picked up my pocket guide and food list for O’s and hit the health
food store. I have a hard time eating lots of beef especially these
days with the mad cow scares. I quit eating beef when it was first
discovered years ago. I feel safer eating organically farmed beef,
but not 100%!
Anyway I have followed the plan for 2 whole days! I feel like I am
in detox and hate the feeling but hour by hour it gets better!
Instead of looking at this as a diet I am looking at the idea of
food intolerances and their effect on myoverall health! So if I lose
weight while eating better, YEAH me. But if I just end up dairy,
wheat and corn free (and healthier for it), then YEAH me!
One thing that really struck me is how O’s have so much more stomach
acid than others and how damaging that acid can be if not controlled
by diet. Because I have a gastric band I am extremely concerned of
the effects of too much acid! I told myself that was the number one
reason to follow Dr. D’Adamo’s plan. In order to protect and keep my
precious band I must eat to regulate my stomach acid. Because my
portions are so limited I have no choice but to succeed to my weight
loss goal if I eat my special foods! I confess that I am on a
chocolate binge that doesn’t seem to have an end, but I am trying to
incorporate good nuts to balance out the sugar rush. Today is better
than yesterday when I kept eating chocolate til I puked then eating
a little more! Not my common way of living and I realized how toxic
I was behaving! Today I didn’t overeat to the point of puking once
and limited my chocolate to after meals!
