another lovely day on the planet!

Greetings fellow O’s……
Today was another lovely day on the planet for me….a very “O” sort of day. My
3rd consecutive day without coffee! and tragically I must report that I am
feeling much better without it. I am basically an addictive person and am
currently searching for an acceptable addiction to replace my former love…any
suggestions? Regretfully, although sex would be a good candidate, alas it not
possible in my little slice of reality. Water is good…I have been drinking so
much more without the coffee! Carrots and almond butter have potential (probably
not a good combo?) and I never seem to tire of the local elk jerky and salmon
bellies….guess I’ll have to give this some serious thought…one must choose
one’s addictions carefully!
Working on this large pond today and moving those 600 -1000 lb. boulders again
(by hand), down the sides of the pond. I’m happy to report no injuries and that
hernia-like injury seems to have healed seamlessly….I seem to be immortal once
again.

My muscles are undoubtedly whining and I do miss the 5 layers of skin that seem
to be missing from my hands and arms, but otherwise I am quite chipper and my
glass of red wine (um, I mean medicine) has soothed the aches. I do seem to
forget the pain and sufferings so quickly (probably explains why I’ve been
married so long…just kidding) and my body recovers reasonably quick. I have
been trying out a supplement over the last month or so and am having some
positive effects (although I have forgotten why I started taking it….probably
lost my mortality briefly); it is a homeopathic formula of HGH. Has anyone here
tried this before and/or have any knowledge of its effectiveness?
Other news from Lake Wobegone….I am astounded at how acutely I am affected by
coffee and dairy! What a difference without it. I feel a little too good…a tad
bit of poison sure puts things into perspective. I don’t want to get addicted to
this feeling of jubilance…a dash of suffering adds contrast and flavor. What
was my question? I do ramble on at times.
Oh yea, I had a question about sleep…something I don’t get much of! My waking
and sleep cycles all slightly askew and I’m wondering if it really matters so
much? I go to sleep around 3:00 - 3:30 a.m. and get up around 9:30 - 10:00 a.m.;
is that weird? It doesn’t seem to be enough sleep…that is, I am drowsy in the
mornings for the first hour or so…until I get the blood flowing. I’m fine
afterwards and sometimes take a brief nap (30 minutes) in the evenings before
working on the computer. How much sleep do you folks need?
Well, I’ve babbled enough for now…thanks for listening.

I do better if I’m allowed to wake up with the sun and not by an
alarm clock. I am NOT a morning person - my body temp doesn’t
rise until the sun comes up.

Actually I think that’s the recommendation for Type As. At least
that’s what I just read in LR.

Green tea. Thomas has a tea on his website that’s great too. Very relaxing.

I have never slept from 10 pm to 5/6 am. Even when I was a little kid. I
think some people are morning people and some are night people.

It’s physical. I remember freaking out a nurse once. I was
going in for surgery and had to be at the hospital at 5:30 to
check in etc. I’d been up for an hour, maybe a little bit more,
when she went to take my temperature. She kept looking at the
thermometer and looking back at me. She finally told me that I
should be dead with the temp I was giving her. Some people’s
(the night people) just have a lower sleep body temp, so until
the day is up enough to cue your body temp to come back up, you
    still “sleep”.

So THAT’s my problem. Over stimulation before going to sleep.
I used to tell people (still do if I have to be in early) at work
that I couldn’t be held to anything I agreed to before 9 am cuz I
    was still asleep.
a little exercise before retiring is always stimulating. I am
    jealous…well, envious. Sweet dreams Belinda.

When I was in college, I always tried to get my math classes at 10 am. I
felt that that was my most “awake and alert” time.

Back when I was poisoning myself, I would stay up late at night, get up a 5
am, eat some kind of grain on the run, and drink cups of coffee to stay awake.
Now I get up and eat PROTEIN, no coffee, and feel great.

Morning people are fun to pick on about 9 pm, especially at parties.

If I have to go into the office early, I like leaving the lights
off. Unfortunately I’ve got an A office partner who turns them
on when she comes in. <sigh

Try one of the glaciers in Alaska or Siberia.
