Finally back!
Hi All!
Wow, it has been a LONG time since I have been in touch! I have been reading in
the archives and trying to catch up on how people are doing
It is nice to
see so many familiar “faces”, as well as the “new” people on the list!
After about 8 months of unemployment, DH found a job down in the Philly area and
we relocated last Nov. While in temp. housing for 3 months we ate out for
nearly every meal! It was a LOT of fun trying Persian, Thai, Korean and other
great ethnic foods, but… I regained about 15 pounds from cheating!!!
My weight gain came from basically going off the BTD a little at a time,
although I rarely knowingly ate wheat, dairy or corn (all of which I have strong
reactions to). The avoids crept in mostly unknown at first, then I began having
potatoes almost daily with my breakfast, then I said o.k. to french fries! I am
SURE this is the main thing responsible for my 15 lb or so weight gain, in
addition to a LOT of rice and the hidden avoids! Oh, well - can’t change it
now! I HAVE finally given up the potatoes again though
We also eat out
far less frequently now and when we do I stick with basic foods they can’t
contaminate!
I currently weigh about 135 lbs (had been up around 140 lbs. recently) and my
first goal is to try for 120 lbs by my birthday, which is 18 weeks away. I
think if I am very faithful, eating mostly beneficials and limiting the rice
(been having it nearly daily in various forms for a while now) AND start
rebounding again (another thing I allowed to “fall away” is any real exercise),
that I have a good chance of meeting this goal - or at least being a lot closer
to it and FEELING a LOT better!!! Sounds like a great 40th birthday gift to me!
Well, that is it in a nutshell! I guess writing in is my way of formally
recommitting to this way of life
I know I felt a whole lot better and
looked better too while I was faithful to the O diet!
