Rice Wraps etc. here in Canada!
Hello all you Canadians out there in O land!!
When working at the set-up of a new Food Basics store in Ontario, I
discovered an unsuspected and tasty offering. As some of you know I
manage an Organic Department for a sister store also owned by A&P.
At Basics I found Rice Paper..ingredients rice, water & salt. Yes I
know it is white rice, but I can live with that on occasion. You put
the wrap in warm water +- 5 seconds and it becomes pliant. Initially
it is very brittle so I break it in half before placing in the
water. Wrapped around some tuna salad with a splash of Braggs it is
a chewy treat. Wrapper says can use shrimp inside too…count me in!!
Has anyone else found that texture has become almost as important as
flavour…I said ALMOST!! ;)…since they changed to eating this way?
Love this season. Fresh tomatoes, beans, cherries..sorry have to go
eat some!!
Hugs
Toni
