pink eye

I know that inhaling horeradish-especially fresh ground will flush out
pink eye. I am not sure you would want to do that with a baby.

I have heard that how much water you drink can be enough to change the
percentage of fat it registers. Have you found his to be true?

Mustard

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

Hi all-
Dr D has said that for Mustard with no Avoids - use Colman’s Mustard.
Combine it with an equal part of water, stir until smooth - let stand
for 10 minutes. It does work as I tried a couple years ago. Keeps
well in fridge.
Above instructions printed on side of Coleman’s Mustard tin also.
Enjoy -

Type O and superslow weightlifting

Thanks Jane and Don for your interest.
I’m using Adaptogen and Thyrocare from Wilsonsthyroidsyndrome.com
and I can’t say enough about his _Doctors’ Manual_. Finally I
understand.
I used the temperature self test and a challenge dose of Thyroid
Extract from the health food store, both of which convinced me. I
stopped the extract right away, though, because it just artificially
and temporarily changes the ratios of hormones, doesn’t reset the
thermostat, which is what I need. Thyroid hormone can lose its
effectiveness and leave one in an even worse state.
The other thing I did was buy a Heart Rate Variabilty biofeedback
monitor (heartmath institute). Apparently we need a smooth even
rhythm of the heart in concert with the breath in order for the
autonomic nervous system (think glands as well) to stay on an even
keel. It already makes a difference after a few days. Also has some

I just about dragged myself into a naturopath’s office about 3 yrs. ago…
was following a veg. diet for about 2 wks and it zapped me of every bit of
energy I had. The ND suggested the btd and I’ve been better off (in many ways)
ever since.
Re: meat eating vs. veg only: it’s interesting to read deuteronomy’s food
specifications. Pork is not allowed,,, beef is,,, no mention that I can
see on vegetarianism. The area I wonder about is shellfish… old test.
says no and current science says shellfish are risky .. they are more
suseptible to things like salmonella and other bacteria’s etc. interesting?
often wonder what blood type the jewish population originated with… if the
laws given to them jives with blood type diet?! Leslie

Cookbook about mustard

Monday, December 25th, 2006

Hi,
I found this on Heidi’s column today. I thought this might help any new people
who might be worried about where to find mustard without vinegar.
Sarah
Dear Heidi, In regard to Chris asking today about making compliant mustards:
There is a recipe book for homemade wheat and vinegar free mustards. As far as I
know, this makes them safe for all four blood types and all secretor statuses.
It is called Gourmet Mustards the How-Tos of Making & Cooking with Mustards. It
is by Helene Sawyer and Cheryl Long. It is part of the Creative Cooking Series
published by Sibyl Publications. Their website address is www.sibylbooks.com and
their phone number is 800-240-8566. Each recipe makes about 1 1/2 cups. The
price is $7.95. It is softcover and about 100 pages long. If you cannot find the
ingredients you need for the mustard you want to make then a good place to buy
the herbs and spices needed is Penzeys Spices. Their website address is
www.penzeys.com and their phone number is 800-741-7787. I hope that helps.

Digest Number 1522

I was a vegetarian for many years because of the ‘killing animals is wrong’
belief. All it
got me was chronic illness. However, I still have qualms about killing
animals. To ease
my conscience I buy meat from the supermarket already packaged etc. In
Australia all our
meat is grass fed so supermarket meat is ok.
I tell myself that these animals would have been killed anyway and even
if I did not eat this
meat someone else would. A farmer friend of ours offered to kill a beast
for us but I had to
decline the offer. I could not actually order the death of an
animal. Maybe I’m kidding myself
but that is how I got over the qualms I had.

Cleaning George Foreman Grill

Sunday, December 24th, 2006

Hi All,
This may have been figured out by many long ago but it was such a ‘eureka’
for me that I thought I would share. For those who love their George Foreman
grills as much as I love mine here’s a cleaning tip. I have found if I clean
it as soon as I am finished cooking it cleans easily - if I wait it is a
pain. Given I want to eat as soon as my meat is done I had to figure
something out so what I do now is soak a rag in water, getting it really
wet, as soon as I am finished cooking I unplug the grill put the wet rag
inside and close top. When I am finished eating - one quick wipe and it is
clean! Eureka!
For what it’s worth,

Demeter Bio-Dynamic food vs. other

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

Does anyone know, whether D Adamo has tested
the effect of food qualified as Demeter.
Demeter is the highest quality food available
and is consedered the healthiest amongst all.
In fact many food problems vanish by eating this
kind of food - it is cure not just food (as Rudolph
Steiner in old 1920s said).
One friend of mine gave a woman having serious alergenic
problems with strawberry and 12 more food choices.
As this friend gave the woman the exact foods that she should
avoid, except the foods were Demeter Bio-Dynamically produced,
the same woman suffered no problems.
So. Does Conventionaly produced food and also some organic foods
induce food problems with blood types that Demeter doesn’t?
Has anyone asked something similar Dr.Adamo?
