Digest Number 1522

I was a vegetarian for many years because of the ‘killing animals is wrong’
belief. All it
got me was chronic illness. However, I still have qualms about killing
animals. To ease
my conscience I buy meat from the supermarket already packaged etc. In
Australia all our
meat is grass fed so supermarket meat is ok.
I tell myself that these animals would have been killed anyway and even
if I did not eat this
meat someone else would. A farmer friend of ours offered to kill a beast
for us but I had to
decline the offer. I could not actually order the death of an
animal. Maybe I’m kidding myself
but that is how I got over the qualms I had.
