sharing breakfast

Wow, so many good ideas for breakfast! Thanks guys, I look forward to
experimenting with all those recipes. Btw, I usually use rice or almond milk in
my smoothies. I’ve been allergic to soy for years and besides, I don’t like the
taste. (And Thomas is right–I think it’s in Live Right that Dr. D says soy can
be problematic for Os.) And it doesn’t go all that well with mango or blueberry,
imo anyway. If there’s no milk on hand, I use fruit juices like pineapple or a
touch of grapefruit, or even water–just enough to get the fruit to smooth out.
(Okay Thomas, I’ll use protein powder from now on.)
Krickett–I like sardines too, but usually eat them when I’m by myself. My
roomie can’t stand the smell and neither can my co-workers *chuckle* I love them
though, either right out of the can or on Wasa bread. I had a boss who used to
eat them at 3 a.m. when he was up writing programs for clients. His secretary
would have a fit when she would go into the computer lab and find the remains
the next morning *lol*
Egg and broccoli “omelettes” rule. They are a terrific way to use up leftovers.

You can throw in carmelized onions, garlic, the occasional mushroom (baby
portobellos are perfect), even wilted greens and a sprinkle of pecorino romano.
It goes GREAT with a breakfast steak, hamburger, chicken, turkey if you want to
eat meat . . . I had an egg/broccoli omelette with bison sausage last week and
it was delicious! I was comfortably full halfway through the meal–that’s a
wonderful feeling. So much better than being bloated and still hungry after a
carb-laden meal.
Another btw–I’ve rediscovered the joys of horseradish and lean red meat eaten
together. I worked for years in a food production plant that made horseradish
and got burned out on the stuff (literally *lol*). Now I’m back to eating it
again, and it tastes fantastic. It also helps with my digestion. I still use the
product of the company I used to work for. Their white horseradish has three
ingredients: horseradish, white vinegar, and salt. That’s it. If you can find
something comparable in your area, go for it. (A little dab of it is good on one
of those omelettes too, only add it after cooking so you don’t evaporate the
volatile oils and lose the heat and taste.) –Robin (beginning to feel better
than ever!)

just keep in mind how much white vinegar you have in that horseradish. We
can have Apple Cider Vinegar, but white vinegar is an avoid. Those
    breakfasts do sound wonderful.
