Roughing Up Ham Bone

“Anyways…..”why do {you} advocate eatin avoids!?” Why? Well, I
just think you guys are independed enough to understand that a cravin
is a craving. And if you are cravin something “bad,”(according to
some doc on the east coast) you should go after it. There’s
something in it you want….and you should take time to munch down on
it to figger out not just the components of the “bad” food but also
whether you put yourself in the situations where you end up eating
foods you neverreally craved. I probably can’t explain it as i
understand it…..cause i always forget what i wanna say when i
transfer mental thoughts to my fingertips on the keyboard. Also,
when someone reads something you type, you never know where the typer
really meant to emphasize, make sarcasm, question, or even
recommend. We’ll never really understand each other…hell, even
your closest bestest buddy or spouse will never ever really

UNDERSTAND YA.”
But you are repeatedly encouraging people to eat avoids, and you seem to be
saying that binging on avoids once a week or so is also acceptable (as you do
for yourself). For some people, like you and me, that is okay behavior because
we are in good health. But for others… not as good. It is not the best idea to
be habitually replenishing the body with the substances in foods which keep us
chemically addicted to foods we should not have in our bodies to begin with. It
is one thing to be supportive and make people feel okay with their mistakes and
setbacks, it is another to be actively encouraging others to eat whatever they
want to their heart’s content. Some people don’t have the willpower to control
themselves when they get some of this stuff in them. I’ve seen that
non-secretors have a harder time with this then their secreting comrades… now
isn’t that interesting? You are still entrenched in your old addictive way of
life; others may not want that. The nature of addiction and the complexity of
the human personality are such that we can make all sorts of rationalizations
for our little food addictions.
Take a wheat eating O who is conflicted, they want to quit wheat and improve
their life but they are finding it difficult. Because of the complex effects and
experience of wheat they wake up early, feel sluggish and disoriented and go to
work where they have a cup of java to help get themselves going… then because
their boss was extra bitchy that day they suffer even more stress, which they
can’t act out ’cause they are in a cramped little office space for most of the
day. Then they are confronted with a choice of foods, be it from a co-worker or
a lunch line or a vending machine, you name it… their wheat opioid addicted
brain is now screaming for another fix, they go over the day quickly in their
addicted mind and they are searching for reasons to give in, reasons to “make it
ok” so they can shirk their suffering mind and escape from the burdons of
everyday life, the additional burdon of the current day’s dillemma and the
burdon of having to make a lasting change in their life that takes more effort
than their regular routine (such is the prospect of eliminating wheat). What are
they thinking? Well, that extra-bitchy boss is the first and most powerful
reason to scarf down that wheat… and then there’s “Ham Bone” who appears in a
“thought cloud” puff over that unfortunate O-list member’s head: “Hey, it’s me,
Ham Bone! You should be radically honest with yourself and eat that pastry!
‘Cause you know you want it! You can’t trust some doc who says ‘no wheat for
Os’, listen to yourself, you know what you want! Go ahead and eat whatever ya
like, ’cause I sure do!” Then the thought cloud disappears in a puff of ethereal
smoke and that person snatches the pastry and goes into a drug filled oblivion
and goes on as a pathetic wheat-addict.
“I remember when i was a bloated guy…it’s all about how you view
food, me thinkx. I just shoved it all down cause I thought that was
the way to eat.
g’luck.”
And here you are, assistant to the Devil. Wheat opioids are addictive. I found
out how addictive they are in the summer of ‘01. Perhaps there are others out
there who would benefit from personal experimentation, learning personally how
food effects people. But then… there are the weak, diseased people who only
need a little nudge to be sent off into the dark pit of lethargy & despondence
that is the vile modern wheat.
Have you ever heard of the theory that the body can become addicted to something
that it is allergic to? Or that we can experience a resurgence of cravings for
the addicted food once our bodies begin to detoxify that substance from its
tissues; the detoxification occurs when the body no longer has reason to store
(deal with) any more of the offending substance, such as when a person
eliminates the offending substance from their diet. Thomas has advised people
under this theory. I’d have to agree, too. From personal experience I’d have to
agree with this theory. Whether or not the theory per se is correct, my
experience of my own body follows it closely. In that light I’d have to say your
advice on cravings and avoids is sad, you are an enabler, you enable others to
continue their addictions.
As for “We’ll never really understand each other…hell, even your closest
bestest buddy or spouse will never ever really UNDERSTAND YA.” No. Do not
mistake the limits of your vision for the limits of the world. That is the way
of the weak-of-mind. It IS possible to undestand another, after one can
understand oneself. It is also possible to share in the dream state, I’ve heard
of older couples who can do this. There is so much potential just waiting to be
explored. Your commentary on limitations are a poisen for our minds, and I
reject it.
Ax- g’luck, ’cause you’re gonna need just that.

I say this forum is a place for all of us to compare our experiences with the
BTD, and to debate amongst ourselves the level of adherence that is
desirable, to contemplate the purely physical and measurable responses vs.
more esoteric psychic rewards that may derive from a combination of a
basically good diet but with planned side excursions into avoids.
We don’t know enough about this to say who’s right and who’s wrong. The
proof will be in the pudding, 20-30 years down the road, and I hope we will
all be here to review our results.
