Vit. C could repair the damaged area in the artery and decrease the need for
the plugging agent, thus decreasing blood cholesterol.
It is interesting to me that as a young man I studied physics using Linus
Pauling’s book and knew him to be a very reputable man. Later, when all of
the doctors piled on and called him an idiot and a kook because he advocated
ingesting tremendous amounts of Vit C, I knew better. It was the first time
I ever doubted doctors. He must have had a good laugh as all of his
detractors died while he lived to the ripe old age of 93.

Hi Max,
I am a firm believer in Pauling’s Vit C theory. I know for myself that if I
feel like I am getting a cold I start taking 1000 units of C every hour or so
for a total of about 8,000 in a day that I often can beat the cold. The
second day I decrease the amount to about 4,000 and the third day I usually
forget to take more than my normal 1000.
