Fast food places?
Does anyone have a list of fast food or sit down restaurants and choices on the
menus that are *somewhat* fairly “approved” for the O type diet?
Thanks,
Jennifer

Almost anywhere, including many fast food places you go you can get some
grilled chicken (or steak or fish) on top of a salad. If you’re being
exceptionally compliant, you’d have them bring you some olive oil and lemon
juice to use as dressing. In Mexican places you can use salsa as a
dressing. If they only have burgers, order it “protein-style” which means
just the patty and the fixings with no bun.
For example, I went to a fast-food Mexican place last week that had
(unbreaded) fish tacos for 99 cents. I ordered six of them, got rid of the
tortillas and have a very yummy grilled fish salad. I’ve done the same
thing with steak, chicken and shrimp tacos.
In nicer sit-down places, all you need to do is order a steak (or other
protein slab) with veggies on the side. Most places will substitute for
side dishes - I always ask “do you have anything green?” and can usually get
green beans, broccoli, zucchini, spinach or asparagus instead of the
potatoes. (I’m a non-secretor so I go for the low starch veggies in place
of potatoes and rice since I don’t eat either.) If you’re really lucky,
they have grilled veggies!!
Most restaurants are pretty flexible - you just need to have the courage to
ask!

<<My problem with the asian places is the use of oils, and NOT BUTTER.
There is cornstarch in every sauce in every Chinese fast-food restaurant.
It is what makes the sauces think and not runny. If you must go Chinese -
go steamed with no sauces.
<<IN & OUT (california chain) does some cheesy thing where the hamburger is
wrapped in lettuce.
Funny - this is exactly the chain where they use the phrase “Protein-Style”
to describe serving the burger the way you describe.
