It's an avoid if you eat it but it's OK if the Cattle eat it. They have

Uhh......i understand how you might want to "save money" makin your
own nut butters, or even getting it "fresh" from the market(the nut
butter machine)......but there are things called aflatoxins. It
could KILL you. Whoa, you say. Just wanted to throw it out to ya.
You're messing with a touchy food toxin there. Maybe youy know how
to do it, but storing homemade nut butters & / or getting it straight
outta the machine is a bit risky. I'd rather just buy it from those
expensive jars where they comply with toxin testing.

Thanks Wish......Im printing everything.
I havent had any problems physically with eliminating the
dairy.....Ill miss cheese but have mozzarella available if a craving
kicks in. Im actually feeling really good and I attribute to the
elimination of the Wheat/corn. I've done my trip to raleys and
although I found alot of stuff (Ezekiel bread-various flours) Im
probably going to lean toward just having the bread in the freezer
and take a few out a week as removing bread from my diet is a drastic
adjustment. I picked up soy and brown rice flour to make cookies with
and for making graveys etc...fortunately for now its just me doing
the adjustments. We do raise lamb but if you are anywhere near a
Costco, they consistently carry a leg of lamb that is never over
3.99lb....its boneless and is perfect on rotisserie.....with a dry
rub on it i had a hard time telling it from prime rib....and 1 would
probably make 2 meals and sandwiches for our family...
<!--more-->
As far as the cow goes.....hes not being grained (thats usually done
just before slaughter) but should he NOT have alfalfa if alfalfa is
an avoid for me? Or wheat hay?I will be checking out the site. Thanks
for the advice.

<< Yes the spelt
products (if you can find them in the store) can be
costly but you must remember you're probably not going
to be eating a lot as most Americans do. You can also
look to making your own using Spelt, Rice or another
acceptable "flour". But really you don't NEED bread -
it's just nice to have once in awhile.
What a great post from Wish! I only want to add that before you spend a lot
of money shifting to spelt, you might want to find out if you're a non
secretor or secretor. I went years without losing much weight and blamed it
on a variety of reasons. One of the real reasons was that I was a
non-secretor and once I found that out and adjusted my eating accordingly, I
began to drop weight like a rock.
<!--more-->
Another thought is that you might want to look at the Atkin's diet. Just
stay away from the expensive supplements. It is a more severe form of the
BTD.

It sounds like you're set up a lot better than most people. 1. You have a
garden plot. 2. Your protein source sounds inexpensive since your husband
and son hunt. Just follow the diet, cut your carbs and get a good weekly
amount of exercise. Say good-bye to strawberries or any high carb foods for
a while--LOL.
