Christmas Spirit all Year
Damn right, Ham Bone! There is no sense to the idea that for a few days or
weeks each year we are kind and beneficient to each other, then the rest of
the year we cut each other off in traffic, elbow to take cuts in line, etc.
Is that so complicated?????
Oh, here’s a good one. How about asking someone, “How are you today?”, and
then really listening to their answer?

So, we’re supposed to be rotten ALL year?—LOL. Hey, the worst time I
really notice people cutting me off or elbowing to take cuts in line IS
during the holidays when people are shopping so they can be thought of as
kind and beneficent. I decided about 10 years ago that every year I make a
point of NOT getting upset in crowds and wishing everyone everywhere I go a
Merry Christmas and meaning it and am surprised at their reaction. Some are
lost causes but most take a moment out of an already overloaded life and
genuinely smile. We worry too much over $4.00 wallets we’re buying our
nephews so the family won’t think we’re strange. We forget to enjoy the
holidays and the wonderment we felt when we were kids. We can afford to slow
down and enjoy it. Like you said, it’s only for a little while.

Good points there. NO one cut me off in traffic the week of Sept.
11th. That’s the kind of “niceness” i can deal with.
