Soy Milk
<<Actually, Westsoy Organic Original is sweetened w/brown rice syrup and
avoid-free.
For you secretors, of course. Only molasses and glycerine are acceptable
sweeteners for us nonnies.

I’ll jump in here and say that instead of soy milk that makes me sick, I use
cream in occasional baking etc and have had no adverse effects whatsoever. I
have also used real cream in making Ice cream and had the same result. It
was great.

I have been reading all the commentary on this list for one week now, ( I just
joined) and I’ve caught several times you aren’t allowed to have soy milk
(re:below cut and paste by Thomas Dekany ). Yet in the book “Eat Right for
your Type” under the Dairy and Eggs section D’adamo states “Soy milk and soy
cheese are excellent, high-protein alternatives”. It is also listed under
Neutral, not under the avoid……
So as you can tell I am confused…..I’m trying to understand why it’s a no-no
now.
thanks in advance for any info on this.
p.s. I did eliminate milk from my diet, but have 1 cup of soy milk a day…..

The morning cereal Quinoa works real well for me and I prefer to put
something on it. Does anyone have any idea of what I might add to it that would
give
a little more flavor. I am currently eating very little as most things
simply don’t work. Fortunately I am drinking lots of the lifesaving Metagenic
products and am forever grateful for them. Feeling better each
day….espcially days that I avoid most foods….and that does sometimes get
hard……………but the more I experience what foods do to me the easier it
is to avoid
them. I am typ O and use to be addicted to flavored soy
milk…………………….my colitus bought was initiated by taking a strong
antibiotic,
Keflex, but then I was under a ton of stress and drinking lots of soy
milk……………………….so all of that certainly played it’s part.
Metagenics is wonderful…………..before that I was trying to do the
“specfic carbohydrate diet”…from the book “Breaking the Vicious Cycle,
Intestinal
Health Through Diet”….it simply wasn’t turning things around.

Thanks for all the quick responses……
Yes I am making my own soy milk, with the Soya Joy Maker.
and don’t add all the weird gums, etc. Obviously I don’t add any
preservatives, and add a small trace of sea salt, and Turbinado sugar.
I am using non-gmo organic soy beans…….I thought I was being good!!! So
now with that info, what’s the verdict??
I have been avoiding milk, cheese (I don’t care for any of the beneficial ones
yet) Ice cream, and bread, and I have been feeling great!! I did have some
no-no’s this week-end at a family reunion, and I felt TERRIBLE!!
I am taking this in very slowly, making switches here and there…I don’t want
to go too fast, or else it won’t be a lifetime change!!
Thanks for this group….it gives me daily motivation!!

Well, unlike any other nutritional theory, today’s discoveries are not
written in stones as far as the Peter’s work is concerned. God bless
him!!!!!!
While some soy can be tolerated by few in small amounts, regular
consumption of it has been shown to cause digestive discomfort/trouble.
It is simply not digested well by Os.
As an O you have to realize that there are other sources of proteins
that are way superior for your system. (Animal origin). Right now if you
wanted to use soy it is the fermented type that is preferred like
tempeh, miso, and soy sauce. The other problem is the added ingredients
in soy milk like gums/sugar etc.
The key to your well being is adequate daily protein intake, along with
green leafy veggies, fruits, beneficial fats & lots of water & most
importantly daily strenuous exercise.
I hope this answered your question.

Good for you!!!!! Your getting your body detoxed. After 4 years on the
diet, if I cheat much (especially grains), I’m sick for 2 days like a hangover.
