Carbs vs Fat

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

The following medical excerpt discusses eating less calories but is a
disguised
endorsement to eat more fat and less carbs to delay the onset of heart
disease.
Max
Low Cal Diet Keeps Heart Young
by Sid Kirchheimer, WebMD Medical News
…”Based on our finding, it appears that if people reduce their current
calorie intake between 20 and 40% — even starting in middle age — they may
delay the development of heart disease or possibly even prevent it,”
professor of genetics Tomas Prolla, PhD, tells WebMD.
That’s because as hearts age, cells shift their source of energy from the
high-energy, slow-burning fat molecules to more low-energy, fast-burning
carbohydrates. This leaves older hearts with less energy that gets burned
quickly to perform the same work, stressing the heart and setting the stage

root canals

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

Hi, I had a root canal tooth that bothered me for years. They actually did
the root canal procedure twice and the side of my face ached all the time.
There were also times when even the thought of chewing on crackers, before
ER4YT of course, was painful. When I finally had the tooth out, I lost the
one next to it too, as the infection had spread. The one thing my dentist
said to me that has always stuck was this: Root canals were originally a
temporary procedure, until people could get to an oral surgeon. Once a root
canal is performed, the tooth is dead, and the body then begins trying to
expel it as it does with anything dead. Think about a splinter in your
finger. Some people handle them with no problems, some are okay until they
reach the magic number for their body and then all kinds ailments occur. If
you can find someone with a chart, I think you will surprised to find that
whatever meridian the tooth is on has been acting up, trying to get your
attention. I would NEVER have a root canal again. I have been pain free
since the surgery. BTW, the surgeon told me to start thinking about the

Sorry, I have sent for my books but they haven’t arrived yet. Is this
something that I work out for myself or do I need to get a test?
Thanks in advance!

Just remembered to ask this question

Hi…when do you get together to chat? Thanks. Jemmi *_*

Newbie with a fewbie questions hee :p

Monday, May 29th, 2006

Hello. I’m an O, but I don’t know yet if I’m a S or a N-S, and I
also don’t know my pH either. (all things in time) In the small
paperback for O’s, it says that pinto beans are A, but in the large
book, it says that they are HB. Didn’t know if that had to do with
being S or N-S. Also, white beans are supposed to be neutrals. I
ate 1/4 cup with 1 Beano (which said I could eat up to 1/2 cup on 1
tablet) and I was in agony for more than 3 hours. So nothing is for
sure, right? One must test out what works for each person. Also,
I’ve been reading others posting about Calcium. What about Coral
Calcium? Also, I thought the idea was to be far more alkaline than
acid? I’m sure I’ll have more questions as I continue to learn.
Thank you. Eilene (jemmi) *_*

Hi - I’m New. Please help me get started!

Monday, May 29th, 2006

Hi, I’m new here and have been recommended to do this program by my
naturopath. I have acne - it is almost clear now but I want it to be
100% clear becasue I want to have some treatments for the scarring it
has left me.
Well, I have checked out the lists of foods on various sites and have
also ordered the books from amazon.
I would appreciate it if you could tell me why some of the different
foods have different ratings from different lists! For example, one
list says spelt is neutral and another says it is occassional!!
Also, if you could post your tips …. thank you in advance!

You can eat chocolate. As for the coffee, it’s just like quitting smoking.
You can substitute all you want but, in the end, you just have to decide to
quit because you really want to. Depending on your health, nothing says you
can’t drink a little coffee once in a while, like at tax time when you feel
awful anyway.

Sabbatical

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

Alright Everybody,
I hate to do this, but I really have to focus on my schoolwork, so I’m
going on an indefinite sabbatical of sorts. I’ve been getting behind,
and this week off showed me how bad it’s getting. I wish everyone the
best, and you can still contact me at rpartovi@… with any
personal issues. I will always be here for you, even when I’m not
reading the groups emails. All the best to everyone!
Be well,
Ryan

Reality for Os

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

In February 2000 I had root canals on two upper back teeth. Within
about 9 months I began having little chronic health issues that mainly
center around some dizziness and lower energy. I have thought about
having the root-canaled teeth completely removed based on the focal
theory which is against root canaling teeth. It has to do with the
miles of tubules that trap bacteria or something that’s not good.
Apparently there were studies that showed when the root canaled teeth of
chronically ill patients were removed in many cases their condition also
cleared up very shortly.
Anyone have any thoughts? Experiences? The teeth are now crowned so I
guess I’d have to find a dentist who would be willing to remove the
crowns and then the dead teeth. Just don’t know what I’d be getting
myself into.
