moose mole, I mean goose, whatever

Friday, April 21st, 2006

Yeah! Thanks Ryan, for not only confirming I can eat goose, but also mole! Two
favorite foods back in my diet in the same week, what a treat!
That Christmas goose recipe sounds incredible, and I don’t see any reason to
wait three more months to try it. I’ll do as Wish suggested, and put it on a
stinkin’ rack, instead of siphoing off the fat every ten minutes. So obvious,
and I never thought of it. I already own the rack too, how embarrassing =).

Cease Being Impressed With People in Positions of Power
Q: I am really seeing a lot of the manipulation in our everyday lives. I
took my cat to the vet to get a sore on its neck fixed, and they kept me
there for two hours. They wanted to give it shots, weight it and a dozen
other things, and charge me for all of it.
A: In every area of our lives, the same policies are unfolding. You have
little scams, like the people at the top of the pyramid control the food
supply, in which they put chemicals and other things that make you sick
over the long and short term, and the same people control the
pharmaceutical companies that sell us drugs to overcome what the food
has done to us. We need to stop getting so impressed with people in
positions of power. The higher you go up the pyramid of the medical
profession and the educational system, the more indoctrinated you are
becoming and the more robotic you become… not more enlightened. The
idea that people in professional positions know what theyre doing is an

Ryan, thanks for the great tips! What about mole sauce? I do not know the
ingredients, other than a little chocolate. I love that stuff!

I apologize in advance is this is similar to another message I may have sent.
AOL crashed just as I was sending it. Can’t tell if it went, and am
re-typing.
Thank you Ryan for telling us we can eat moose. My brothers are hunters and
bring me elk and deer. Next time they go out, I’ll send them to moose
country. Thanks also for clarifying we can eat goose, just not goose eggs.
I’m getting a goose today!
I know everyone got sick of the moosey/goosey thread, but please consider
this. One of our members asked for advice, so he could stay compliant.
There were some answers that made assumptions and told him to go for it. But
he came to us for knowledge and understanding. When I have asked questions
in the past, everyone has come forward with thoughtul advice, loads of
knowledge, and interesting stories of personal experience. That is the
greatest part of this group, and I hate to see someone else not get that
benefit. I am not hung up on “Meese” and “Geese”. Just want us all to be

eating Italian, Mexican

Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

I had no trouble in Italy, and I have no trouble at home in Italian
restaurants. I order a salad to start, or a carpaccio. For main course, I
order grilled meat or fish with vegetables. This is generally served with
pasta. I just don’t eat the pasta or polenta that comes with. If I’m too
hungry to skip part of the meal, I do as Ryan does, and order a substitute of
extra vegetables or simple rice. Be careful of risotto. While we can have
rice, risotto is usually quite dairy-rich, and is often held together with a
very heavy cream or cheese sauce.
Mexican - I would love to hear how people handle this! I never eat Mexican
anymore, which is a shame, as the flavors and spices are delicious!

Eating Italian

thanks Ryan for some more great advice. My choices for Italian-
actually any restaurant are limited because I live in the thumb of
Michigan. When I do eat out I avoid chains and eat at family owned
restaurants. I think the food is better and worth the drive. Ok my next
quest is Mexican- any suggestions?
