Pumpernickel
Does anyone have an idea why Pumpernickel is an avoid? I looked at the
ingredients and it looks like they are all OK. As a nonnie, it is difficult ot
get bread and yet I need some complex carbs. Most rye bread sold has wheat flour
in it but the pumpernickel that I have, does not.
I am assuming it is a complex carb…I guess that owould depend on the glycemic
index?
I really need help with finding some recipes for complex carbs. As a nonnie,
lentil soup is a possibility. Can anyone tell me what I would have with it to
make a balanced meal? Also recipes would be good altho I may have some
here…some of my kids are A’s and vegetarian (mostly) so there may be books
around still.
Thanks, Ann

I could be wrong here but I think we are supposed to stay away from complex
carbs like sugar and honey etc, especially us nonnies. Simple carbs in
moderation are OK but complex carbs are bad because our bodies don’t process
them well.

should be neutral as long as it is avoid-free. Check the
ingredients.

Sugar and honey are simple carbs.
Grains and tubers are complex carbs.
Both should be limited for Type O’smore so for nonnies.

But Thomas, She is having difficulty with fat…no gallbladder. I try for a
reasonable balance albeit higher in fats and proteins than in carbs.
I enjoyed the fish soup, BTW….am collecting recipes. Ann
