We ARE making ourselves sick
Thomas, you are so correct! As much as I promote the healthy diet and lifestyle
that I have learned from Dr. D., I also recognize that my greatest strides to
good health, peace and happiness have been mostly from “getting my head on
straight”. Too many of us look at the world and say “I’m right, you’re wrong”.
Too many of us look for quick fixes, and are willing to compromise our own
integrity and honesty in the process. Too many of us see our issues and
problems as someone else’s fault. Too many of us walk around feeling entitled
to…whatever! More and more of…Whatever! And yet don’t recognize that what
we want comes to us when we adopt attitudes of humility and openness. Yes, and
Ryan’s post from the other day was perfect. Enlightenment is all around us.
You do not need to “seek” it. It is usually hitting you over the head with a
sledge hammer, and THAT is why so many of us get sick. That enlightenment will
do whatever it has to do to get in. And with all due respect to Axel (and the
Biltong Gods), if marijuana helps you open up, that’s fine. Not that I don’t
indulge occasionally, but that is just for kicks. When I realized I needed to
accept certain principles, and understand the reality of my situation, I just
did this: I shut up. I stopped blabbing. I started watching and listening,
and paying attention, and accepting the world as it is. I started ER at the same
time, and haven’t looked back.
