moose
Moose rhymes with Goose, and Goose is an avoid, so…
Maybe the moose question should be directed to Dr. D’Adamo’s website. I am
thinking that because Goose really is an avoid, and who would have known?
Chicken, Turkey, Duck, Pheasant, are all Neutral. Ostrich is either Neutral or
HB, I forget, but it’s ok too, so this is not an anti-Big Bird rule. As much as
we can compare Moose to Beef, Bison or Elk, all HB, I wouldn’t assume anything.
When Dr. D says that if you don’t know the status of a food, and you assume it
is neutral, I think he is speaking in context of a person being in a one-time
situation, like a family dinner, where there is something on the plate you are
not familiar with. But if your brother is hunting, and may be bringing you
enough meat for several roasts, or enough sausages to last for weeks or months,
then I really advise you to ascertain the status before you decide to dig in. I
hope you can eat it, it probably is very, very good. Let us know!

Moose doesn’t have wings and doesn’t oink. If you’re worried about it being
an avoid, send the roasts to me and I’ll let you know how I feel after I eat
them.–LOL. Moose is hard to get so enjoy it while you can.

Actually, they hunt us if we get too close and they’re in the rut. It makes
for a fascinating problem. We’re not allowed to shoot them while they’re
trying to kill us unless they make physical contact. I’m afraid I’d shoot
the moose and then jump on the antlers. However, they can’t climb trees like
bears do.
