Hives

I have a friend who had a bad case of hives and she traced it to her hair
dye. Over several months, the hives went away. Of course, she wouldn’t
agree to use the diet to help cleanse her. She thought I was crazy but I
reminded her that I wasn’t the one with the hives.

I meant to include this in yesterday’s post. Not to detract from or
disagree at all with Mary, but in addition to monitoring food triggers,
I would recommend the following Allergy Control Protocol for Type O’s
from Dr. D’Adamo’s new Blood Type Encyclopedia:
Frankincense (Boswellia serrata), 400 mg (standardized to contain
37.5% boswellic acids): 2 capsules, twice daily
Yerba maté tea (Ilex paraguariensis): 1-3 cups, daily
Stinging Nettle leaf (Urtica dioica), 500 mg: 1-2 capsules, twice
    daily away from food
Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), 500 mg: twice daily
    Non-Secretors Add:
Schisandra/Wu-Wei-Zi berry (Schizandra chinensis), 450 mg: 1 capsule,
    twice daily
Vitamin C (preferably from acerola cherry or rose hips), 250 mg: 1
    capsule daily

General Recommendations Usable by All Groups:
Bromelain (Pineapple enzyme), 500 mg: 1-3 tablets four times daily
    between meals, gradually decreasing
Give these a try. OTC and/or prescription antihistamines should be
    unnecessary.
    Cheers,
    Ryan

    Cathy,
Have you had your thyriod function tested? Hives is a pretty common
hypo/hyper thyroid response (especially at bedtime and upon waking) and we
“O”s are pretty prone to this condition.

<…. Now, I begin to get itchy at night and it just
about drives me crazy. I use Gold Bond Extra Strength to ease the itch, and
try to go to sleep right away. But every morning, it’s the same thing until
I have been up and going for a while.
So, you see, I don’t even know whether this began as a reaction to something
I ingested (two attacks I thought were caused by lemons), or some physical
or emotional trauma. I ……..Thanks again,
    Cathy

    Jannette,
I didn’t know this was a response to thyroid or that O’s are pretty prone to
this. Was recently diagnosed with low thyroid and put on Westhroid. But have
really had problems with itching/allergic type welts (look similar to
mosquitos bites but aren’t) a lot since I started on the BT diet. I thought
maybe it was a part of detox but sounds like it could be a combination. My
ND hasn’t really told me much about low thyroid except to put me on the med.
    Any suggestions?

Just do what Ryan Darius Partovi says. I’ve found out the hard way it is
best to just submit to him and do what he says, don’t argue. He IS Ryan
    Darius Partovi after all.

P.S. I just can’t seem to get tired of writing the words Ryan Darius Partovi
or saying “Ryan Darius Partovi” out loud. Does anyone else out there in O
land have the same fascination with all things Ryan Darius Partovi? Ryan
Darius Partovi need not respond (unless of course Ryan Darius Partovi has
    something constructive to add).

Switching all wheat to spelt will work wonders in and of itself. Since
I have moved home, we have made the switch seamlessly and now use spelt
flour for everything. I say “we,” but I really mean the rest of my
family, as I find that following good food combining limits my grain
intake to an occasional slice of Ezekiel/Manna Bread. My sister makes a
mean spelt yellow cake (w/chocolate icing!), spelt oatmeal cookies, and
spelt waffles. In fact, dairy isn’t much harder. If you switch to soy,
rice, and nut milks (provided you need milk), you can also enjoy all of
the marvelous sheep, goat, and buffalo milk cheeses. Use it as an
excuse to try new and exotic foods! For people who don’t have health
issues and/or aren’t trying to lose weight and don’t worry about food
combining/portion control, just avoiding the avoids is a fairly painless
way to better preserve health (IMHO).
    Cheers,
    Ryan

I personally don’t like the taste of whole spelt but have found that white
spelt is very similar to regular white bread. The trick is finding it. I
bought it online. So, if you find the taste of whole spelt bread to be a
little much, you might want to try white.

That makes sense about the supplements, etc. Thanks for the websites to
check into. I am already feeling better with the meds. And this time I
tested within the normal range. So hopefully things are working well for
    now.

    Hi Mary
I’m interested in this, what is the procedure for killing fleas on cats
? Do you mix it, if so, what is the ratio ?
