Encyclopedia + Tiers

Friday, February 17th, 2006

I have the encyclopedia and have not found it helpful at all. It does not have
secretor status in it. It might be helpful if you were working in the field. In
my opinion it is not worth the money.
I have been told that the publishers of books like these (all the BT books and
diet/health books in general) do all sorts of things to make the info have mass
appeal and that the author’s work often gets very distorted. I believe it
especially as it comes from a very good source. Ann

Tiers

Thursday, February 16th, 2006

This 2-tier system, I’ve heard of it a number of times. I have CR4YT and the
Encyclopedia. CR4YT was written before LR4YT, so doesn’t have the tiers. The
Encyclopedia, however, was written AFTER LR4YT, yet it doesn’t list any tiers in
the food list. This is a disappointment. I’m assuming that the tier system would
be in the food lists, as that is where it belongs. Any thoughts on this? Is this
a clever ploy to make people buy LR4YT if they only have the Blood-Type
Encyclopedia? I don’t see a tier specification from the on-line database at Dr.
D’Adamo’s web site. I am perturbed.
If anyone knows, I want to know the tier status of whey.

food list

Thursday, February 16th, 2006

Hi Everyone
I am new to the list, and really just learning about this life style.
I have visited Dr d’Adamo’s web site and find the food search
feature very usefull. But is there a general list anywhere of the neutral,
benificial or very benificial foods anywhere?
I’m so new to this, that when I go shopping, I see something that
looks interesting or is on sale but I just don’t know if it is good for me.
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to learning lots through the list!

Eggs and Omega-3

Wednesday, February 15th, 2006

PestoI’m eating eggs, mostly for breakfast, occasionally for snack or late
meal.
We have 3 choice of eggs at area stores:
(1) Your vanilla store egg
(2) Eggland eggs which are vegetarian fed, but not organic but claim diet
results in 100 mg of omega-3 per egg.
(3) Horizon Organic Eggs. I contacted them and they claim only 17mg of
omega-3 per egg.
I have been eating Eggland, but would also like organic. Plus, how good are
the omega-3’s in the Eggland brand?

Black Cohosh

Wednesday, February 15th, 2006

Hi Sarah. I found your mail on the Black Cohosh most interesting. I am only 33
now, but had a hist when I was 25. Although I still have both ovaries, I
suspect that my hormone production is decreasing fast now. For the first time
in my life I am battling with very dry skin and the irratibility we won’t even
discuss. sigh…….
If Black Cohosh is the natural way out, I would love to try it. Just a pitty
that they recommend it only for 6 months. What can we do for long term to avoid
conventional HRT?

Ashkenazy blood type???

Tuesday, February 14th, 2006

Hi All, I have a freind whose partner is descended from Jewish people in
Roumania…both sides. He is having difficulty with health and especially
migraine and they have asked me about the Blood Type diet.
He does not know what his blood type is yet but has sent away for a testing
kit…they are living in Europe so it will be awhile before he knows.
Meanwhile, since I suspect his ancestors might have been Ashkenazy Jews and that
that is discussed somewhere in Dr. D’s books I am asking if anyone knows what
blood type was typical for this group.
He had a lot of migraines last week and says that he was craving BEEF and eating
steaks every night. He is wondering if the beef is what is causing the problem
or what is needed.
Anyone know or remember reading about this? Ann

Second Tier/Neutrals?

Tuesday, February 14th, 2006

Hi
Sorry to bother everyone with a basic question that I am sure I have read the
response to but just can’t remember!
I am typing out the blood type lists for dh (O nonnie) and myself (A sec), and I
have stumbled over the question why there is a division between Tier Two and
Neutrals. In fact, some of the “neutrals” are avoids, but I understand that
they are potentially of a less serious nature than Tier One avoids. So, safe to
lump all Tier Two and Neutrals into the Tier Two category?
Thanks a bundle.

“Aaaargh!!!”

Tuesday, February 14th, 2006

Boy, Axel…You are rather sensitive about your weight! That is for women ! And
yes, women do get fat more easily…survival of the species…I can’t imagine
that you are fat!
Glad to hear that you too have your addictions…like most of us….must have
been an interesting summer 2001! That was quite a confession! However, I quite
understand…have done some of the same.

elk jerky

Monday, February 13th, 2006

I just made the most wonderful elk jerky that I wanted to share.
To each pound of ground elk (or hamburger would work too, I expect) add:
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground ginger
1 TBS brown sugar
1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1/8 tsp cayenne (or use all cayenne about 1/4 tsp per pound)
1 crushed garlic clove or 1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup pineapple juice (I used the juice from a large can of pineapple
chunks in its own juice - we dehydrated the pineapple chunks, too)
1/4 cup soy sauce
Mix together and add ground elk. Mix again. Refrigerate for at least 4
hours, overnight is fine.
Extrude onto your dehydrator sheets - I used the American Harvest Jerky Works
‘gun’ available at WalMart for under $13. Or, using a rolling pin, flatten

Red meat and dreams

Monday, February 13th, 2006

I know this sounds weird, but every time I have a late dinner with a good
portion of red meat, I have a bad night. I dream the whole night and its just a
lot of unrelated rubbish. Is this normal and why does it happen?
