Why it’s rude to diet in public

What does everyone make of this? Thoughts? Opinions?

Why it’s rude to diet in public
by Laura Fraser
Recently, after a trip to France, I was inspired to have a dinner party.
I visited the farmer’s market and made a simple but, if I may say so,
rather scrumptious meal: bruschetta with roasted red peppers, insalata
caprese with buffalo mozzarella, basil, garden tomatoes, and boutique
olive oil; barbecued chicken; fresh corn; green salad; finished off with
some young strawberries drenched in limoncello, a lemon liquore from
Southern Italy. Plus a few bottles of Pinot Grigio. Then espresso. This
was a meal few people could complain about.
But they did. Of the four women there, not one of them could eat the
entire meal with the pleasure I had hoped to offer them by cooking it.
One was on the protein diet (the one that insists you will lose weight

Digest Number 1199

Monday, February 20th, 2006

Thanks Mark - I wholeheartedly agree!!
****I’m de-lurking to ask all those writing in if might consider learning to
cut off their messages headers and tails when they reply. If you
subscribe to the list in DIGEST form, you will know what I mean. We
DIGEST readers see this over and over and over
(Read between **** lines):
This was repeated ***14 times*** in the last digest.
When repeated OVER and OVER in the DIGEST, it’s sometimes hard to make
out what is a new post and what is not.
If you are a member who gets individual messages, when you click REPLY,
you copy the WHOLE MESSAGE- headers, tails and all into a new message. If
you leave it all there (As many here are doing) it really clutters up in
a DIGEST.
One step further, if you cut away some of the previous message, to just
what part of a post you are replying to. This may help get a point across

On the Diet with Heidi Merritt CALCIUM!! (Long- i

Monday, February 20th, 2006

As a type O perimenopausal woman I am very concerned about prevention of
osteoporosis. I had bone density testing done recently and they found osteopenia
in one of two sites. I know how important calcium supplements are (and wt.
bearing exercise.) My question concerns optimal Calcium intake. I know from
experience that my compliance goes down when I have to take too many pills per
day. The new chewable calcium supplements have led to 100% compliance. Will the
small amount of corn syrup in these chewables interfere with the absorbtion from
the gut? Any chance chewables will be available in ER4YT format? (like with rice
syrup instead?) Thanks in advance for your time and attention.

Deflect Question

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

I know there was a thread a while back on Deflect but I had just started on
the BT diet & was also new to the list. The directions on the Deflect bottle
have something about taking 2 capsules 3 times a day, I think. But what I
understood from the discussion before was that many people keep them on hand
and just use them when they eat avoids. Did I misunderstand? I really
prefer to not take any more supplements than I have to (my ND already has me
on several for other reasons) & would prefer the idea of only using them
when I eat avoids. Someone please explain to me about the Deflect. If I
can just take it when needed, do you just take them the one time or several
times that day? Thanks for your help!

Hi Mark,
Thanks for de-lurking!
I, for one, have been guilty of this, and, I apologize!

Back on ER4YT –Eat your sulphur

Saturday, February 18th, 2006

Hello Frances,
Oregano is HB for O nons.
I’ve heard that it’s great stuff, so I bought a 1 oz. bottle of Now
Oregano Oil for about $15, shipping included. I add 3-5 drops to an
empty capsule and take with a little water. It’s very strong and will
burn the lips or mouth if you get some on it. Some say it should be
mixed with olive oil.
I added a drop or two to salads but couldn’t stand the taste of it.
I’ve also been taking Nature’s Biotics SBO - that may have helped my
GI flora too.
I have a good feeling about the coconut oil though, and I’m hoping
that things will fall in place for me with regular long term CNOil
use.

Axel -
Sorry about the formatting.
I went on the SCDiet [Specific Carb Diet] for about a month. SCD has
helped a lot of people with IBS, IBD, Crohn’s, UC, etc., and it’s a
good diet and makes sense to me. The trouble with it with me was the
smelly BMs. I felt like I was going around in circles on SCD.
It kind of bugs me how some people put down ER4YT without ever trying
it or knowing anything much about it. They love to try to find reasons
why it wouldn’t work, but they never try it and see for themselves.
SCDiet is vey similar to the type O diet. I may incorporate both of
them by not eating SCD ‘legal’ cheeses and type O avoids.
I’m hoping that probiotics capsules will be enough for me and I won’t
have to eat yogurt any more. Maybe it wasn’t the yogurt that was
making my BMs smell so foul, it may have been cabbage, apples,
sunflower seeds, peanuts, or other type O avoids I’ve been eating

Ginger Juice

Saturday, February 18th, 2006

Dianne, I would be interested in how you make your juice. I have a
Norwalk Juicer/Triturator. I used to buy the Ginger Syrup from The
Ginger People; however, they no longer carry the syrup. It made such
wonderful tea!

Back on ER4YT

Friday, February 17th, 2006

Hi,
Was off ER4YT for a month. I got so I couldn’t stand smelling the
house up any more from smelly BMs.
I posted this at another website :
People often say things like this about ER4YT :
“That’s a pretty controversial book, and critics say there isn’t
any real science behind it.”
The majority of people that say things like this have never tried
ER4YT and never will.Their prejudices are too deep.
I challenge any of them to find out for themselves and devote
themselves to it for one month.
In my honest opinion - anyone can say that a book is bogus,
baloney, or BS, but you know what they say - the proof is in the
pudding :-) I’m going back on ER4YT. I got confused and frustrated

Eggs and Omega-3 & Tiers and Very Bad Men…

Axel,
Nice pun!lol! Very, very sorry about the typo!! Strange as it may seem, I
do know that your name is AXEL (Divine Reward), so it is just a typo. I also
hate it when my name is misspelled, (Able instead of Abel). I’ll be extra
diligent in the future. :-) I also tell strangers that I’m “allergic” to wheat, corn, soy and potatoes,
it’s much simpler than getting into the BTD theory at times. I also figure
that since most people think that these foods are great, if they hear the
word “allergy” associated with them often enough, it will at least begin to
lay a subconcious foundation of these foods being not too good for us. Then
one day, when word relly gets out in the mainstream about the BTD, they’ll
be prepared for the “new programming”! We all have our hidden agendas!
BTW, encouraged by your writings, I, a former VERY SICK vegetarian wanna-be,
who could only tolerate VERY welldone (very dead and nearly cremated) beef;
has progressed to the point that I now RELISH medium-rare/rare beef…who
