New to this!
I’m just learning about this diet and I have a few questions. My food lists
books says no dairy, but that Mozzarella is a neutral. Is Mozzarella not
maid from dairy?
Also, many of the recipies from RECIbase list cucumbers as neutral for O . .
. but the food lists says it is an avoid.
Is there some mistakes in the Food Lists that I should be aware of?
Thanks, Trish

Yeah, there are some mistakes or discrepancies, but the lists are
still kind of evolving.
I can tolerate very small amounts of dairy, and mozzarella is one
cheese I’ve been known to nibble. You might not be able to tolerate
it. Mozzarella from whole buffalo milk would be better than large
commercial dairy part skim cows milk mozzarella. Yeah, I’ll go out
and milk my buffalo. <g
For me, cukes are an absolute avoid. No way, no how anymore. And I did
so love them.
As you get more compliant, you will find that you are sensitized to
your body’s requirements. Then eating an avoid you haven’t touched for
months can be a lesson in reality.
To me, dairy, pork, potatoes, wheat, etc. all rarely appeal to me. I
may remember a good conch chowder with bits of salt pork and hardtack
and potatoes in it, but I know I can’t eat it. Not because some list
says so, but because my body will let me know very forcefully within
the hour.
Think of the stuff you can have, and forget the rest, is my advice. I
simply don’t think about sandwiches at all. There are bread
substitutes and pickle substitutes and ham and cheese analogues, but
that doesn’t cut it for me.

Rose,
You just answered one of my questions! Have only been on BT since mid May,
not doing great with the wheat but doing well with the dairy and corn
avoidance. Had a little ice cream the other day & my body sure didn’t care
for it. I was wondering if you get more sensitive to food or if you just
become more aware and wondered if I just thought it was a reaction to the
food. But sounds like it definitely could’ve been that lesson on reality
you mentioned. That’s good for me; I needed something to tell me this was
really making a difference. Motivation to stay with it is a really hard
thing for me. Hopefully this will help me be motivated to being more
compliant on the wheat. Thanks for the affirmation!
