Interesting Observation
I originally started out on the BTD after a dietician advised me too. I used to
get an asthma like attack after every meal. Would cough very bad and had
difficulty in breathing. I also had constant sinus, heay! Within my first
three weeks, this was all gone.
When I cheated the first time (wheat and/or dairy), the same thing would happen
however and for about two years this was the case. During these two years, I
went through bad detox periods. I think Axel will remember. Now however, it
has all changed.
The only way I can explain it, is this: I think the amount of avoid lectins in
my body has dropped to an acceptable level after all the detoxing. If I cheat
now, I do get a bit of sinus, but it is nothing compared to what I used to have.
I don’t get the coughing spell at all anymore. If I cheat twice in a row
however, it starts to return. I find this very interesting.
Potatoes however is a different story. I cannot tolerate it at all. Now less
than ever! Had some over the weekend and I am positive that all my joints got
into agreement last night to behave totally rebellious this morning. sigh…..
What do you guys think of my theory???

Hi Hilda,
I react differently than you do, as we are all individuals,
eventhough we are of the same blood type.
I breakout “skin-wise”. It took about 2 months for me to clear up
after going on BTD.
I was in menopause so my immune system was less tolerant of Avoids.
Arthritis also creeped up on me too.
I think you have a valid theory.
Want to add that when we were young, we were able to endure all the
Avoids with none or little reaction. But all us “baby-boomers”
are finding that it is no longer so, due to lack of immunity.
