More to health and happiness….
(Oops! Forgot to clip last time I sent my message off! Sorry! That’s probably
why I find individual messages easier to manage!
Yes, Ann, thanks for your response.
I certainly know that what you are saying is true! And thanks for expressing
it, even though you thought you might be lambasted which, well, I do not suspect
is true…
No, it is true so true….
Here’s something else to add in to the mix…
It depends what you are doing with your body, in a sense… If you are
developing an extremely sensitive instrument (for whatever reasons…) then,
perhaps, noting and responding to each sensitivity is the way to go… On the
other side, if you are making your way about socially (trying to say this in a
neutral manner rather than slanting in favour as in talking about ‘community’
and ‘relationships’), then its best to be able to ‘break bread’ together.
Some of us have suspicions that we are loners or fringe types, while others feel
we belong in the midst of the social sphere…
In the business of being ourselves, which is common ground for all of us, I
think the paths quite possibly diverge. So, for some, having food differences
creates a barrier between the self and regular life (suddenly I am reminded of
Steppenwolf eyeing the bourgeouisie with mixed envy and contempt!)… and so,
the ideal diet (which seems oh so necessary) forms that ridge… (something
which gave me pause for thought once was a friend who smokes referring to her
smoking as such — as if she really did not want to be too popular, and smoking
— which she just loves to do! — helped provide her with some separation!)
Strange stuff, eh?
I do find myself reaching out, within my own city, towards those who are
observers and commenters of social trends, rather than those who are in the
middle of the flow of life, though I certainly do value friendships with all, it
seems necessary to round myself out with the non-comformist sector of the world:
environmental, social, commentators, book lovers, and so on…
Just a thought!
Thanks for yours!
Frances
How can you digest when you are feeling anxious about your food. I think we
have to trust that we have an incredible machine that will serve us well as long
as we don’t abuse it. Anyone read Carolyn Myss’ “Why People Don’t Heal and How
They Can” ?
