Ginger Juice
Dianne, I would be interested in how you make your juice. I have a
Norwalk Juicer/Triturator. I used to buy the Ginger Syrup from The
Ginger People; however, they no longer carry the syrup. It made such
wonderful tea!

<<Hi Dianne, Could you please tell me how you make the ginger juice. I too
have GERD that flares up from time to time. I love ginger and have been
using ginger drops added to ginger tea. What else have you found that
helps?

Very simple really, I just use a knife to cut off the outer bark and feed
the peeled pieces into the juicer. The resulting juice has a lot of
sediment, but I just let it settle to the bottom and don’t work about it.
Be warned though, the ginger juice is not like ginger syrup. Without any
sweetener (as an O nonnie I don’t use any) it’s got a very, very sharp bite.
Personally, I like it!
As for other things I do for my GERD, pretty much the standard stuff…
avoiding acidic foods, sleeping with my head elevated, taking Prilosec daily
and drinking soothing teas such as chamomile after meals. I learned about
the ginger juice from someone on the (now defunct) bulletin board on Dr.
D’Adamo’s website. You can still search the archives so if anyone finds the
post please send us all the link.
