“Aaaargh!!!”

Boy, Axel…You are rather sensitive about your weight! That is for women ! And
yes, women do get fat more easily…survival of the species…I can’t imagine
that you are fat!
Glad to hear that you too have your addictions…like most of us….must have
been an interesting summer 2001! That was quite a confession! However, I quite
understand…have done some of the same.

<<I love saturated fat. I think I mentioned this before, but I’ll mention it
again. Last summer I had an embarassing addiction to certain avoids… which
were highly addictive. Wheat is truly evil…. But I also ate huge quantities of
ice cream. I wasn’t
eating enough meat or fats outside of the ice cream to support my weight
training and jogging around and the herbal speed habit.
<< I loaded up on tons of
saturated fat from dairy, combined with the omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid my

body absorbed the EFA so well I simply didn’t ever really tan, nor burn, for
my skin type and the latitude. So I know, in my own shameful way, the
effectiveness that a diet high in saturated fats can have on utilization of
vegetable omega-3. Saturated fat is also the most stable of fats, might as
well have a good proportion of the most stable fatty acid in your body.
Saturated is also a good healing substance.
I too have noticed that my skin does not tan much or burn at all…I used to
only burn as a child.
<<I don’t mind saturated fats. Butter helps me feel sleepy.
I thought butter was an avoid for O’s…what am I missing here? I did try using
ghee for while until I mentioned it to my ND and he told me that heating butter
or any fats/ oils produces oxidized cholesterol and that is very bad…for heart
and carcinogenic too. Barbequeing meat is damaging to the fats also…frying and
sauteeing also poor.
<< We all know that butter is a dense
fat that contains a high level of cholesterol, but this is only part of the
picture. Butter is also a rich source of small-chain fatty acids,
principally one called butyric acid, which has been shown to have beneficial
effects on the colon and digestive tract.
I think that butter is better than most other fats…certainly a better choice
than margarine even for us O’s. For several years I avoided any trace of milk,
butter, etc but now seem to be able to have small amounts of butter on occasion.
Better run…day is getting very hot and I need to get out and walk. Ann
