Red meat and dreams

I know this sounds weird, but every time I have a late dinner with a good
portion of red meat, I have a bad night. I dream the whole night and its just a
lot of unrelated rubbish. Is this normal and why does it happen?

    Hello Hilda,
It is not surprising that you cannot sleep well after a late dinner with red
meat. Remember, fats and proteins take longer for our bodies to digest, and red
meats take longest of all. That is why the O diet works so well for us, and we
can eat reasonably, maintain our weight, and not be hungry all the time. So, if
you eat late and then hit the sack, your digestive system is very busy, and I’m
sure it’s uncomfortable and difficult to really relax with all that work going
on internally! Better to try to eat earlier, or if you must eat late, try to
take at least a little walk after dinner, and then sit up and read for awhile
(or watch TV, whatever). Even if you can manage to stay up an extra hour, I
think you will sleep much better. Also, if you must eat late, try eating
“light”, have a smaller than normal meal, and maybe have chicken or fish instead
    of red meat.

Hilda, I don’t sleep well after having beaf for supper either,( so I usually
make it fish or chicken at night.) Don’t know why this is, my beaf is raised
with no hormones or other stuff in it. I guess, its just too stimulating for
    some of us.
