Acne, scaring, and different procedures. :0)
For those who don’t know me from the old board on Dr. D’s site since
I haven’t posted here in a while- I am almost 20 years old (not a
teen as of the 24th of this month! =0)), been posting for over 2
years on that site, and have been ill since I was almost 15 with lyme
disease, Epstein bar, and Hashimotos. Taking care of it all naturally
and have been SLOWLY finding my way back to health!
I have deep acne scars (pits) and plan on getting rid of them for
self esteem and career reasons (acting). I have been to a skin clinic
once 2 years ago. Laser surgery seems like the ideal way because most
of my scars are very deep and you can swim in the holes! ;0/ It was
recommended to me again recently, this time by my acupuncturist
because they are so deep and he says it is “cleaner”.
My question is; has anyone had this procedure, or know of someone who
has had it done specifically for “acne scars” and not
for “wrinkles”? ;0) I also know of micro derma abrasion, but have
heard it doesn’t get to the REALLY deep scars like the laser? I
prefer the one time approach!
If I do this, I need all the help I can get and want to make sure my
body is in a good position to heal because I scar easily now and want
to make sure I eat plenty of protein and take the appropriate things
prior to and after the procedure. I have to check my thyroid levels
again. I have seen videos of “after the surgery” and am not thrilled
about the idea of burning my skin off and feeling like my face is on
fire, but if it really works I will do it!! I have been through worse
things like poison oak all over my face for 2 weeks! ;0)
I have to make sure I have no more acne breakouts as well because I
don’t have cystic acne anymore, which caused the scars years ago, but
would like to get rid of it once and for all. But maybe the little
buggers only come from time to time because I am detoxing because I
am aware of the different parts of the face mean different organs are
having trouble. ;0/
We shall see!
