FRUIT and other foods do not mix

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

On Sunday, I had fruit with cube steak & eggs….boy, did I have
gas when I got home,… for hours.
I hadn’t done that for a long, long time.
The timing didn’t work out. The steak & eggs were eaten within
an hour of the grapefruit ’cause it was just cooked and ready to eat.
I could have waited and let it get cold.
That would have been fine………….my own fault.
I think “food combining” is still a good thing, at least 4 me.
Is anyone else in our group, food combining at this time?

hey, where are you all?

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

Yes, Hilda. I’m with you: I HATE winter too. Can’t imagine to get into
wintersports, “blech” is right , LOL.. Kinda funny, when you think we just had
the winter olympics here.

Tranquilizers

Monday, November 21st, 2005

I have an practical music exam coming up in May. Last year was the first one
and I stressed myself into such a state! My hands were sweating, my mouth was
dry and I was shaking so badly that I ended up playing badly. At least this
year I know what to expect, but I would like to take something to just keep me
calm. I am scared of tranquillisers or anything like that. What do you
recommend? Is there something specifically for us O’s?

I am so jealous (was hey, where are you all?)

Monday, November 21st, 2005

I got such nice replies - Max is working in this yard, Emmi is into spring mode,
Susan K is on the beach, and here I am, waiting for winter! Blech!
I suppose I should be thankful. Our winters are nothing compared to yours. In
all my life I have never seen snow except on pictures or TV. How’s that?
Yet to me, winter is terrible. I am acclimatized to this climate and I hate
winter. I wish I could hibernate somewhere.
Love you all lots!

Clarifying Genetic Modification of Food

Monday, November 21st, 2005

Sounds pretty grim Ryan. Thanks for the info. One of my rules is to avoid
processed foods because of hidden ingredients (complex carbohydrates) and
that’s even before I thought about it being genetically altered.

Kraft

Sunday, November 20th, 2005

Is it worth writing Kraft in response to genetically engineered/altered
substances?… If you’re going to correspond with them on that …. also
ask if they kept wheat, corn syrup, and hydrogenated substances out of their
products. I don’t think they make one item that’s O friendly! Love,
Leslie

Help finding information

Saturday, November 19th, 2005

Would anyone recall the discussion or maybe a link to information
regarding the relationship between Type O Non-Secretors, sweets of any
kind (including any more than occasional use of even beneficial fruit)
and weight/fat gain? I know it is a true relationship, but I am not
able to communicate the reasons or the science of it. I know it has
been discussed here, I just haven’t been able to find it.
Thanks to anyone who can shed light on this.

The Ask Dr. D’Adamo Question For 9 September 2001
ON THE AMERICAN DIETETIC ASSOCIATION
QUESTION: I contacted the American Dietetic Association and went to see
a dietician. The organization and the dietician told me there is no
scientific support for your program. Could you please help me with this
response. The ADA told me this is their official position on the topic.
I am sure they circulate that to all its members.
ANSWER: Let’s face facts:
1. As I write this answer, I am looking at a bookshelf containing at
least 40 3-inch thick binders which contain the accumulated research on
blood type that I have compiled over the last 20 years -all
peer-reviewed literature.

good and right, but more and more I am questioning that….I decided to
believe in this based on all the testimonials from all the people on this
list and at Dr D’s site, and the amazing results they have had.
I don’t think I ‘believe” in the BTD, I just feel better. I haven’t lost the
weight that other people have but I feel great. Many “electronic” friends on
the list back then just said give it 30 days with no avoids and I did. After
30 days, if I ate/drank an avoid I could tell. Wheat swelled my ankles,
potatoes made me a bloatboy, coffee gave me indigestion and on and on. I
don’t get indigestion, heartburn, sleepy, bloated, fuzzy brained, anymore as
long as I stay away from avoids. That’s my proof, not testimonials.
