Success Stories, Anyone?

Monday, September 12th, 2005

I’m looking for some motivation to calm my nerve about my previous
posts and being nervous about increasing the fat intake, and eating
larger portions. Any success stories?

Hi Susan,
I have been out of town on business since Sunday and it is hard in a hotel,
but I did manage to avoid all bread, had eggs for breakfast and didn’t eat
the home fries. At lunch I had salad with eggs on top and for dinner a
steak, salad and vegetables.
Drank green tea and no coffee. Our largest coffee chain in Canada, Tim
Horton’s, now has green tea, so that is wonderful. I was able to stop on the
drive and buy green tea, although I had taken my own bags and was prepared
to order hot water, which I did at breakfast in the hotel.
I was very good until I got home last night at nine, dead tired, and hungry,
opened the fridge and someone had left a banana cake in there. I ate a piece
before pouring a glass of wine to relax after a 3 hour drive. Oh well, we
can’t expect to be perfect. Today is another day.

a way to test for beneficial supplements

Sunday, September 11th, 2005

Hi
I have spent a lot of time and MONEY looking for the right supplements and
wondered if anyone had tried Stephen Daniels–he says he can tell all sorts
of things by just your voice on the phone!! I have tried touch for health
and various other things but this sounds great–just would like some input
if anyone has tried him. His website is www.quantumtechniques.com

Combat my Calorie Counting?

Saturday, September 10th, 2005

Hello,
I’m a new O whose dieted and yo-yoed all her life. 3 years ago, I
got serious, did Jenny Craig and lost 45lbs. Now, I have been trying
everything to maintain. I log & calculate all I eat and I visit the
gym at least 2-3x per day. I have always felt I was sensitive to
carbs and after a friend’s suggestion, I decided to give it a go. I
have been consistently training hard and never getting the results I
want. I lived on fat-free cottage cheese, lo-cal/lo-fat whole wheat
grain varieties (ww bread, lo-fat waffles, oranges) and tofu with
little red meat or actual meat sources at all. I always felt
deprived and bloated and gas was a common problem. I have a
bread/sweet tooth and would often succumb to night binges on these
snacks. I have been a couple of days on the O plan and I honestly,
feel different. My body isn’t bloated and I’m not as hungry as I use
to be. Now, I’m actually craving meat. My question is I still have

Full Tummies

Saturday, September 10th, 2005

Hi Everyone,
I have been reading with great interest the posts about how full you
all feel after eating meat. I have the opposite “problem”. I can
eat 8 or 12 oz of meat at a meal and still feel hungry. My normal
dinner is 6-8 oz of beef and 1/2 a dinner plate of steamed broccoli
with butter (sometimes a grilled onion). I am still not “full”. I
am satisfied but I could keep eating. An hour or so later I am
searching the kitcen because I am hungry. Why? How can I feel so
hungry after only an hour or so???
I have never overeaten - I gained weight by eating the wrong foods
even though I did not overeat. I almost always ate less than
a “normal” potion of food.
Now I feel like I am eating gigantic portions of food and I am losing
weight. Should I just eat whenever I am hungry? I hate eating after
8pm but I am almost always hungry then.

Fruited Turkey in Red Wine Sauce

Friday, September 9th, 2005

For that occasional non-beef meal, I made this yesterday and it was really
good! Of course, being an O, I put at least twice the meat in that it called
for. Doing a freezer clean I used 2 turkey tenderloins and the rest of a
package of chicken tenderloins. Borrowed the wine from a neighbor who laughed
at me - 1/4 cup?!?! I’m looking forward to another meal from it today.

I really am here!

Thursday, September 8th, 2005

Hello all! Been awhile since I posted but things have been busy for me. I have
been keeping up with the posts as much as I can though and I see plenty of new
comers from the ‘other’ group. WELCOME! Glad you finally made it!
As for those of you who keep posting yummy recipes…THANK YOU! I wouldn’t know
how to keep cooking new meals without you. We just had the Japenese Beef tonight
and boy was it yummy! I used some rice noodles too just because the hubby looks
at me funny when he looks into the pot and says ‘what else are we having with
it’! I’ll never get him to change over completely I’m sure and actually we’re
not sure his blood type yet but I”m working on it. He pushed the squash away
but ate the rest (he’ll never get over his mother cooking mushy veggies). He’d
live on Mac and Cheese if I let him…ick!
I just turned 30 so I’ve been trying to make a lot of positive changes as to not
feel my age….ha ha. Now that I’m getting the eating part somewhat right (and
still need to get my secretor status) I need some motivation to start exercising
more. Gonna finally cut my satellite channels down so I don’t get sucked into
