HB Challenge

Susan, count me in. I even have everyone (from the last
challenge) still listed on IM. I hope I manage to do better this
time. Last time, my body must have been detoxing because I felt
terrible the whole time.

I remember that Christ was nicknamed “the lamb of God”, and if
everyone is so turned on about drinking his blood and eating his flesh,
well, why not eat a leg of lamb for the Easter days? I’ve heard that ham is
a traditional Easter meal, but there are many religions which pretend to
worship Christ; I remember lamb as being traditional for Easter (is that the
Greeks?). Well anyway, after the successful O has gnawed off all the
succulent lamb meat from the leg they can then protect themselves with the
    bone, paleo style!
    Axel ,
I am with you I LOVE Lamb! It really does make perfect sense to have lamb for
Easter. I want to buy a whole lamb. My Dad used to raise kosher lambs so it was
mostly what I grew up eating. Yummy is right!!! It’s hard to find any around
here and most people I know turn their nose up at it. But as I said it’s my
favorite. I love a rack of lamb with a special rice dish my Mother always made.
I’ll have to check the ingredients to see if it’s an avoid. I love all of it !

    Except for the oysters…

Good lamb is really hard to find in the south east.

    hey Axel,
you’re not having Susans leg though - we still need her - and I know:
whenever you start knawing on Susan, you’ll not stop at the end of one
    leg ….
    right ?

but you’ll feel yourself worthy not to eat them - pat, pat, pat - and
you’ll feel GREAT and even more WORTHY after three weeks of HB -
    pat,pat,pat -

    Hey Susan,
I think that’s a great idea to do that again - I did it too and fealt
    great !
I’m having too many grains right now - spelt, but too much, so …
    who else ?
    love

  6. roosevelt_1900 Says:

is that true - you have difficulties to get good lamb in the US ?
hey: I can get organic lambmeat in good supermarkets here …
and I wanted to tell my new ER-group, that here in Zürich (Switzerland)
we have the first ER-restaurant, it’s great - not expensive and really
good - even the bread they serve with the different HB with neutral
    salads is homemade speltbread
    love

    Hi Susan,
Well, I think that I will try to try to join you this HB group this time.
Although, I fall off the wagon regularly and don’t know what I will do
without Ezekiel bread and spelt, especially at breakfast.

  10. Robin Hartman Says:

I can’t find it very often. Maybe it’s the area where I live. Sheep are high
maintenance and I think that might be the reason. Other animals need minimal
care so most farmers here raise Steers etc. Sheep are really a lot like we are.
    At least emotionally.

Count me in…I have been slipping too much lately!
And isn’t it odd that the moderators of other ER lists
(who admittedly “lurk” here) have nothing to say in our
    discussions?!

Oh, good. I thought that it had changed to neutral on some of the new lists.

  15. Robin Hartman Says:

get rid of in a hurry. If you ask about lamb, emu, buffalo, beefalo, beef heart,
brains, etc., you are answered that it won’t sell in this area so they aren’t
allowed to have it available to order. I might luck out when I finish my
Friendly beef ( we bottle fed a calf that always came to the gate for attention
and his bottle, and later for his snakes. <
What are his snakes ? I have never heard this term before.
If I would buy 1/2 a steer I could get it from my cousin. His farm isn’t organic
, but does put his cows out all day to pasture. I am PA Dutch and my Grandfather
had a butcher shop as a kid I often helped butcher -all the family helped each
other. When my Dad had the farm and raised lambs the only other lamb farms were
near Pittsburgh. I know he contracted all his lamb to the some Jewish community
in New York. Lamb farmers are few and far between- I don’t know of one in the
whole Dutch area… I can’t wait to try Emu. My husband saw an ad for it. I also
heard there is a buffalo farm nearby. There is an all organic turkey farm about
10 miles away. That is really good.

You’re so right, never make a pet of ‘em, if you plan to eat them. Had to learn
the hard way too. We used to raise sheep for the market and I hand fed the
“bummers”. They get to thinking, you’re their mamma.
Now we just raise a few for our own consumption. I just crave lamb meat !Yum.

  17. Brenda Retta Says:

My understanding is that Essene bread is beneficial and Ezekial
is neutral. Did this change recently?
    Kate,
who is hoping that you are right, I love Ezekial bread.

  18. Rigoberto Kati Says:

In the new encyclopedia it is listed neutral for O’s.

We have a yearly “Lighten Up Challenge” at work that lasts 6 weeks,
and I was thinking about doing the HB challenge, with daily exercise
being my real challenge. It doesn’t start until around April 7th, so
it will be awhile. I will post again near that time and see if anyone
wants to try for six weeks! I will look forward to reading your posts
about the upcoming challenge. Especially you, Axel.

Looks like to me that YOU’VE got a good size number of people
    to start
    the March “HB Challenge”.
Now, is the starting date, March 6 ……per Axel ?
What’s the plan, what’s the plan?????
    Are we going for 95% HB & 5% Neutral(hopefully) ????
    and for how long ????
    FORGIVE ME….
JUST GOT BACK FROM VACATION & GOING THRU A COLD
SO I HADN’T READ ALL OF THE GROUP MESSAGES.
I’ve got my grocery list all set. And some ideas. How about you?
You can tell, huh? Yes, I’m excited.
    I enjoy a “group challenge”.
The first challenge I was started
with Sarah Murray, Susan Kennedy, Kate Lewick, Alma Sholmire,

    & Sharon Ferris.
Because we were small….I had introduced them to “AOL IM”.
Luckily we do catch each other on IM, still.
    LOTS OF VITAMIN H (hugs),

  21. Errol Alvera Says:

Well, it’s about time you show your face. LOL :O)
I think it is the general concensus of opinion that we
will attempt an 80%HB with 20% neutrals. No avoids.
Is that acceptable to all of you? March 6 is fine to
me. Take one special day off if it is your birthday
or some other special day. Only one!!

  24. Sofia Cabrera Says:

I think I need to join the shorter one starting next week, too. It
will be a real challenge, as next weekend I’ll be visiting my
parents. I will only be able to totally control a couple of meals.
Are we going to daily post here? Do we have suggested meal plans?
Maybe share the shopping list that you are compiling…
