insomnia

Wednesday, June 15th, 2005

It seems the closer I follow the diet, the more insomnia I experience.
I don’t mind sleeping less in general, but I do miss sleeping deeply.
Anyone else? suggestions? The only supplement I’m taking that seems a
likely culprit is L-Tyrosine, and I take that first thing in the
morning….

Colorado

Amy and Kristl, I live in Denver, near the Cherry Creek mall. The meat guys
at the Wild Oats on Colorado Boulevard are phenomenal! Latest help - he
sliced a 3 lb rump roast so thinly you could almost see through it, for me.
It made some fabulous jerky! Yummy, and because it is so thin, dried in only
four hours and doesn’t hurt to chew! I know a wonderful alternative dentist
in Littleton and a naturopath in Boulder if you are interested.
Emmi, I reiterate: ” I haven’t tried it yet, and I don’t have any pudding
around to read the ingredients”. I suspect the pudding mix will have a minor
amount of skim milk powder in it and maybe some food starch… These surely
won’t be a beneficial but they might turn out to be a neutral with a hint of
avoid. Not meant to be everyday eating, but something to have around when
the alternatives are so much worse; i.e., birthday cake, baskets of Easter
candy, etc.

tootsie roll substitute

Tuesday, June 14th, 2005

I’m not sure who it was who said they were addicted to tootsie rolls, but
while reading my way through another dehydrator cookbook from the library I
found this recipe. I haven’t tried it yet, and I don’t have any pudding
around to read the ingredients, but I am going to try it soon!
Chocolate Pudding Leather Cookies Makes 30
One 3.5 ounce package chocolate fudge instant pudding
1 cup milk (use rice, soy, almond…whatever works for you)
1 cup applesauce (preferably organic unsweetened)
1 tsp vanilla
In a bowl, combine all the ingredients well. Drop the pudding mixture by the
teaspoon onto lightly oiled solid leather sheets and with the back of a
tablespoon spread it into rounds, each 1 to 2 inches in diameter. Leave 1/2
to 1 inch between the rounds. Place the drying trays in the dehydrator. The
drying time will depend upon the make of dehydrator you are using and the
thickness of the rounds. Allow about 5 hours, or until you can peel the

“tails” - strep bacteria

Sunday, June 12th, 2005

Hey?! Maybe there is something to this reptile thing <smile
ns and I have an extra vertebrae as well.
Question for you O- nonnies…has anyone else had a problem with the
staph/strep bacteria? I somehow got my finger infected (had it real
bad on both hands about 15 years ago) and I’m having a heck of a time
getting rid of it. I’ve done the doctor thing (a weeks worth of
antibiotics) but it’s debatable whether it’s actually healed or going
to reoccur. I’m wondering why I’ve got this again - is it just me or
an O thing…??

Very interesting Ryan. Thanks for the information. Canadian Club is a rye
whiskey made in Canada and there are several other rye whiskies available in
Canada. I have never seen rye whiskey available in the States except for the
brand Canadian Club. I am assuming that it is made from rye which I think is
a neutral.

Negativeness

Saturday, June 11th, 2005

just thought I had a really pronounced and pointy tailbone, but maybe
you have something there!Cheers to my fellow reptiles,Ryan<
Ryan ,
Negative blood is rare. There are many other differences between us and people
with positive blood. It isn’t listed below, but tongue rolling as well as extra
fingers/toes (Marylin Monroe had 6 toes) Are a few of them. Widow’s peaks and
there are many more…My Mom & Dad are both O- I can bend my fingers at the
*last joint only*.(every other joint too-in fact we are all what they call
double jointed/very flexible) *What I mean is if I hold my fingers straight it
looks like the typical witch pose.* I know of one person who is is positive
that can also do this , but her Mom has negative blood so I guess it is also
genetic. This was something I had fun with as a kid. I tried to “teach” my
friends how to do this and only recently found out they could practice until
doomsday and never “learn”. My Dr. told me the cartilage runs along the top
rather than the sides giving us this ability.
