Blood Type Paperback Lists (was: Anxiety?)

Monday, June 27th, 2005

<<The list price is $5.99 - had I seen this first I would have gone with it.
I am wondering if there is different information ? Does anyone have one ?
Joyce and all other beware!!!
I purchased this book only to find out that it was solely for secretors! I
am a non-secretor so it was useless to me. I only wish that the description
of the book (I bought mine on Amazon) had said that so I wouldn’t have to
waste my money.
Also note that this little book alone is not enough. I truly believe in the
LIVE right for your type concept and that you need to get a full
understanding of your blood type and all it’s issues before just simply
following the food lists.

My own question now - NAILS

Sunday, June 26th, 2005

I need some help from knowledgable list people! My fingernails are all breaking
off close to the quick. I normally have very strong nails, and they do not
break. They are actually very hard to cut! I have to use the super duper
toenail cutters that look like miniature hedge clippers.
For the last several weeks, my nails are brittle, and break off constantly. I
am not biting my nails, nor am I doing some heavy manual work, so I cannot
account for this. I am eating lots of animal protein, and drinking lots of
water. I’m getting lots of rest, and do not feel ill or unusually stressed.
Any ideas?

Doctors and the people who hate them

Saturday, June 25th, 2005

I read some of the posts about doctors, both physicians and psychiatrists. I do
not hate doctors, but then I do not expect them to offer me a cure, or good
health. In our society, doctors treat SYMPTOMS. If you are in pain, they will
give you something to alleviate that. If something is broken, they will fix it.
Our medical establishment does not concern itself with wellness. Doctors treat
your immediate pain or injury, and that is all. If you have access to a nurse
practitioner, they will have a different outlook, and will be trained to treat
the PERSON who has the disease or injury, but still, you will only get
immediate, or topical, treatment.
This list seems to be people who are all searching for an understanding of
optimal health and wellness; we seek knowledge and support. There is so little
written in our culture, we must be proactive and search out the Dr. D’Adamos,
websites, books, helpful lists, alternative practitioners, such as naturopaths,
etc.
I do not consider this to be an intelligent use of our society’s resources, and

Soy sauce substitute

Saturday, June 25th, 2005

There are a couple of wheat-free soy sauces and tamari sauces out
there. Go to your HFS and read those labels. If I remember when I get
home, I’ll read you the brand name of the Tamari that I use.

Karen,
I totally agree! My suggestion is to just copy and paste the relevant post
[as I have done here] so that we don’t see the web addresses/resources, etc
over and over.
Thanks!
Love and Laughter,
Cindy
Cindy:
That’s a fine suggestion.
However, I think the reason some folks DON’T erase the previous info. is
because it contains relevant information regarding their response.
Sometimes, it is helpful to have the original email AND the response,
especially if you’ve never read the original in the first place. Many
times, I’ve found lots of valuable gems of information by scrolling down,
and reading info I didn’t read previously.

Thanks for the info!

Dawn, thanks for the info on the book (dangers of the pill!!)
Shamrockgreen7: Thanks so much for scribing out those recipes! What a huge
amount of typing there!! Really great! Hubby and I will be pouring over these
recipes… (That was tremendous, and, as it turns out, my library does not have
that title)
And, Sarah, kind of you to copy out those cook right recipes, too! I do not
subscribe there either! So, it’s great of you to share the wealth that you have
found elsewhere and it’s truly appreciated.\
Thanks.

insomnia details

Thursday, June 23rd, 2005

:-) Barbara will be fine for short; and yes, it’s Barbara Button. I’d
forgotten I’d impulsively entered the “memesrus” username once and
when it showed up I couldn’t exactly remember how to get rid of it. I
was reading Susan Blackmore’s book about memes at the time, I
guess….
Insomnia primary; gradual weight loss is a long-term goal.
I’m most concerned about overall balance and vitality right
now. Regarding the melatonin, I did seal off my bedroom so it’s
completely black/dark at night and I get better melatonin release
now (or at least I slept better). I have never taken it as a
supplement, though. I’ll try it and will look into 5-htp, too.
Thanks–the chart is especially helpful; I realize I instinctively do
some of the combining; plus eat hardly any starches anyhow….
Carbs are pretty low–mostly vegetables, one or two fruits, maybe 5-6
servings of grain per week, a little bit of chocolate, occasional

Hey all,
May I suggest a time saver and an easier way to read this board?
When you reply to people 1) hit reply 2) go to edit and select all [or hit
the control and A keys at the same time] and erase all messages and then
write your message. This avoids repeating messages over and over.
When I want to respond to a message I highlight what I want to reply to,
copy that ‘bit, perform 1 & 2 above, then paste the copied part , then write
my text and hit send.
Thanks,
Cindy

Jacqueline, if you don’t mind, I was wondering what happened? (Also,
I’ve forgotten, are you O+ or 0-?
Thanks,
