My mom was 44 when I was born and I am now 59, so it was a long time ago.
She gave birth at home also. She lived to be 96 and was only in a hospital
once in her life. Had 4 children at home. It seems that her mother and
other’s in her family also had children late in life with no problems. I
know this is anecdotal and not statistical.

P.S. As well as having no genetic problems, I was also the smartest child in
our family. LOL Just Kidding

I had both my kids after 35… I have a four yr (36) and a 2 yr (38) other than
being more energetic than me they seem fine :) :)

I think that I read that somewhere too, but I was only kidding. But I had my
son (my first and last) when I was 35 and he is really smart. When he was
about 10, I told him that he inherited his brains from his mother, and he
quickly said, “You never told me I was adopted!” He is also a smart alec.

    Hi Dawn,
Wow, that must have been a surprise. That is really scary. My mom warned me
to be careful when I was in my 40’s. She told me it ran in the family to
have a baby late in life. Luckily I avoided that tendency.

    Hi Dawn,
My mother was pregnant at my brother’s wedding in Aug. and I was born in Nov.
My older sister had a daughter who was 6 months younger than I was. All of
my nieces are in my age group, and I think that I am the healthiest of all of
    them.
My mom said that she didn’t gain much weight and that her friends didn’t even
know she was pregnant until the end. She also claimed that I was the best
thing that happened to her because I kept her young. She was 96-1/2 when she
died and was really only sick the last 6 months of her life, so maybe it did
work. I don’t know her blood type, but I think that she must have been an O.
She ate everything but always believed in everything in moderation. She
    wasn’t excessive about anything.
From the time she was around 75 her doctor gave her a coated aspirin a day

and also niacin. Back then I didn’t realize what the niacin was for, but now
I know it was to lower cholesterol probably. Other than that she didn’t take
drugs, except for diaretics later in life for high blood pressure.
    Regards,
