Anxiety?

Has anyone had problems with anxiety ? I have had an anxiety disorder for many
years. My Dr of psychiatry is wonderful(he is probably 1 in a million)he told me
my brain “sparks” faster than other people. He is open to natural methods of
treatment such as B12 shots which help me very much. Due to all of my allergies
I have problems taking anti-depressants and other drugs.
My sons -both O negative also have it. My daughter who is A positive doesn’t
have a problem. Other cousins also have it- they are either O or AB negative.

Joyce, I am O neg and I’ve always had a problem with anxiety. I always
thought it was a genetic thing as my mother (bloodtype unknown) suffered
from it as did an aunt.
My mother was on B12 shots for a condition called pernicious anemia but
I can’t say that I noticed it made much difference in her anxiety. I
believe I heard mention of her condition called anxiety neurosis.
Wonder if it’s genetic or what? Mine is controllable fortunately.
… and I too have read Dr. John Lee’s book “What Your Doctor Won’t Tell
…… ” Interesting; I started getting the progesterone cream from the
USA as Canada doesn’t sell it in the concentrations needed. That and
St. John’s Wort and Dong Quay helped me get through the dreaded M
    without HRT.

    Norma ,
Has your anxiety changed at all as a result of following this eating plan ? I
think it is genetic in my family. My friend with the O- blood has severe panic
attacks in addition to anxiety. Her daughter is also O- and will rarely leave
her house. I am wondering if it will get better as I eliminate the avoids. It
has been unbearable to live with. I never had it until I was 25. I went over in
my mind if there was something I added to my diet that triggered it. Tylenol was
the only thing I came up with.

    I am O- and have easily-triggered and/or excess adrenaline (as D’Adamo
mentions in LR4YT). The subjective brain interpretation of adrenaline
for me is anxiety/dread; so when I don’t follow the diet, I feel more
“anxious” but am just coming to realize that the anxiety seems to be
chemical (adrenaline) and is controlled by the diet. I mean, normally,
we get a spurt of adrenaline in fight/flight situations but Type O’s
are hyper-sensitive and get that spurt too often and in inappropriate
    situations….maybe!

My anxiety started out for me feeling like I was going to die. Now it’s
fear/dread I’m so glad you shared you have had relief by following the diet
-Dr. D’Adamo’s books gives me hope 4 a solution to a both my emotional and
physical problems ! I want to buy LR4YT next.

    Joyce,
I haven’t started this eating plan yet. I’m just reading throught the
posts trying to understand what it’s all about. The book is a bit too
pricey for me to buy just now so I don’t really have much information
about this eating plan. I’m trying very hard to understand it all
without having read the book. While I don’t seem to have the panic
attacks I still experience the dread thing. And while I haven’t yet
started this eating plan I have been eating low carbohydrate for about a

year and a half. The most carbs I consume (on a bad, cheat day) would
be around 50 grams. It will be interesting to see how my anxiety/dread
is affected when I finally do begin this way of eating.
When I was younger (in my 20’s and early 30’s) it was real bad (the
panic attacks). I don’t remember having them too often before that. I
used to be so fearful that when I went shopping or something and heard
an emergency siren like an ambulance or firetruck I would be filled with
such panic/dread that they were going to my house. My heart would start
pounding and I would get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. It’s
like I was always waiting for the bad stuff to happen …. !
    Ciao,

You are right the book is pricey. It is over $25.- with tax . I checked out eBay
and they had 2 but the bidding was pretty high.So I just ordered it in through
half.com. in “Like New” condition for $10.50 they had over 20 used copies. I
have bought a few books thru their sellers and have had good results so far. I
saw one there a few weeks ago for $7.- and thought I’d wait and find it locally,
but Waldenbooks are charging full price.
Until mine comes I have a library copy of ER, and the cookbook. It doesn’t
look like it was taken out very often. They don’t have LR so I will get it thru
    the inter-library loan.
Yesterday I saw he has a separate ER paperback out for each blood type. The list
price is $5.99 - had I seen this first I would have gone with it. I am wondering
if there is different information ? Does anyone have one ?

    Norma what does Ciao mean?
    Joyce

  7. Patrica Alethia Says:

I’m not Norma but I’ll answer this one Ciao is Italian… kinda means goodbye I
think… anyway most americans pronounce it like Chow.

  8. Sofia Cabrera Says:

Try your local library. ER4YT came out several years ago, so they
should have a copy. Do you have a “Half Price Books”? I got
mine “used” on Amazon.com. Around $15 for LR4YT, just last fall.

  9. Sofia Cabrera Says:

I just got one. It’s just the food list and a very little about the
WOL and WOE. I would still recommend the big book (I ready LR4YT). I
do take it shopping, as it fits easily in my fanny pack.
