Amy - losing winter weight

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

Hi Amy,
I think you are right to recognize our bodies’ natural tendency to put on
some winter insulation. I do have an extra consideration for you. This
winter, I have put on 3-4 lbs, even though I have improved to my diet to
nearly all HB and neutrals, lots more water & sleep, AND I have been able to
reorganize my schedule so as to exercise 4-6 times per week, vs. previous 3-4.
Even though I put on weight, I have LOST INCHES. Remember, muscle only takes
1/4 the space as fat. To quote an familiar example, look at one pound of
butter: it is four pieces. One pound of muscle would be the size of only
ONE of those pieces. If you are following the O eating plan consistently,
and if you are exercising to the degree recommended for an O, there is a
possibility that, like me, your body is converting fat to muscle, which will
cause weight gain.
Have you been taking basic chest, waist & hip measurements? I weigh myself
weekly, and measure myself once every few months. It is interesting that the

New Disease ?

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

In today’s local paper there is an article about a mysterious viral infection in
the Quakertown, PA area. They expect test results next week.
The disease produces a low-grade fever and then a bright red rash that spreads
from the face down the torso to the arms and legs. The schools are closed after
nearly 100 children developed this. It goes on to say an adult also has it.
The headline reads: ” TESTS EXCLUDE COMMON VIRUS AS RASH CAUSE”. Has anyone
else heard of an unknown new virus in their area ?

Dawn,
thank you for the advice on protein, calcium and silica. I am pretty sure I get
enough protein, probably a little more than I need. I eat a lot of meat. I
will pay more attention to my calcium intake, and will try silica if the food
balance/seasonal cycle issue does not resolve this over the next month or so.

Hi Joyce,
That was an awesome quote about True Silence, at the end of one of your e-mails.
Where did that come from?
By the way, good luck getting back to the exercise!

Thomas
thanks for the suggestion that this is a part of a natural cycle, that one would
be more sensitive to, while adhering to this diet. That makes perfect sense to
me, and I think I will just wait another month or so, and see if it stops.

She gave birth at home also. She lived to be 96 and was only in a hospital

know this is anecdotal and not statistical.

Joyce,
The separate list books are based on the ER and Cook Right books. It is good to
follow these until you are used to the diet. Then you would do well to get the
list from the LR book or the Complete Encyclopedia when you can get it on
Half.com or e-bay for the right price, especially if you find the diet is what
you feel best using. Be sure you are following it pretty well before m you
decide whether to keep going on it. Good luck with the exercise.

Blood Type Paperback Lists

Diane,
I’m glad I didn’t buy it. Although I don’t know my secretor status I would bet I
am a non-secretor just from reading about it.
Thanks,
Joyce

Joyce and all other beware!!!
I purchased this book only to find out that it was solely for secretors! I
am a non-secretor so it was useless to me. I only wish that the description
of the book (I bought mine on Amazon) had said that so I wouldn’t have to
waste my money.
Also note that this little book alone is not enough. I truly believe in the
LIVE right for your type concept and that you need to get a full
understanding of your blood type and all it’s issues before just simply

I just started learning about ER4YT and I’m wondering what the
