Menstrual
Hello all;
We’ve talked about some intimate issues before so I’m really hoping it will be
okay with everyone
for me to explain this problem.
I use a contraceptive method called Depo-Provera. It is an injection, Progestin
based (not Estrogen).
It is really wonderful. I get this injection every 3 months in my hip and I have
no period, no cramps,
no PMS, no crazy emotions. Additionally, I don’t have the headaches, anxiety,
hunger etc that went
along with Estrogen-based methods like the pill.
So all was wonderful– I was on the Depo for a year, then off for three, then
got back on about a year ago.
Great stuff.
On Thanksgiving weekend I gave up all grains cold turkey, a week or so later I
gave up all sugars (except for trace amounts in nuts). In the same period I got
really serious about depending on Beef and fish several times a day. Well, a few
days before Christmas I get my period!! Cramps! The works! I am still on Depo.
This is very strange.
So I’m wondering if my diet could be affecting my menstrual powers! Am I now so
super fertile I can overcome the Depo?
I cheated and ate grains for three days- Christmas & two days after. Then I went
back to no grains, no sugars. So here it is 23 days straight no grains, no
sugars and my period is back! It is not a full cycle–
in the sense of menstrual volume (sorry for the graphic details) but it has all
the junk– cramps, bloating etc.
I am going to visit the Gyno soon but I know she won’t have an answer. Axel if
you reply to this can you please use paragraph breaks?
