Visualizations vs. real exercise

Sunday, April 17th, 2005

Karen M:
Was it you who typed the message below???
Anyway, sadly, I visualize myself on the ice everyday, but I haven’t lost a
pound. Also have visualized stomach crunches, but still don’t have a flat
stomach. Visualizing just doesn’t burn calories for me. It’s a nice mental
escape tho’.

WALNUTS/controversy 4 Ossss

Saturday, April 16th, 2005

Hi Osss:
I heard in Dr. D’s new encyclopedia, it’s not clear as to whether walnuts
are HB or not.
Anyone here have the new encyclopedia? Apparently there are TWO DIFFERENT
sections in the book which say contradictory things about walnuts for Osss.
Yikes!! I’ve been eating tons of them. Hope they’re still HB.
Best wishes,
karenb

Happy Holidays

Saturday, April 16th, 2005

Hi Everyone,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I know I will not be compliant
butI am embracing the season and making a concious choice to eat
whatever I want. Hopefully, I will not eat that poorly. Having
Prime Rib and Spinach for Christmas dinner. I will try to resist the
Yorkshire Pudding - oh well.
Have a safe and happy holiday season,
Colleen

Cherie and oatmeal

Friday, April 15th, 2005

Hi
Cherie,
I’m sure I saw once on this site that barley was less “bad” than most
grains–try soaking grains and beans at least 7 hours then pouring off
water–you could soak then drain then put barley in thermos with some
boiling water to have ready in morning for breakfast cereal–
there is a book called “Nourishing Traditions” by Sally Fallon that explains
how you can drastically increase the nutrient value of food by preparing it
the right way.
Hope this helps.

advice on vices

Friday, April 15th, 2005

Ann, Ann, Ann,
Please stop torturing yourself over diet coke and chocolate. Think of all
those people on the Titanic who skipped dessert that night!
I am glad to hear you have made significant cutbacks in the amount of Avoids
you are consuming. Your continued motivation and efforts will surely improve
your dietary intake, and lessen your cravings over time. But I feel really
bad for you when you beat yourself up over an occasional lapse. Remember,
this is not a character issue. It is simply a matter of choices we make
every day. The Blood Type Diet was specifically designed for your body to
achieve maximum performance: weight, health, mental stability, stress
reduction, etc.
I am going to quote a post from almost exactly one year ago, December 26,
2000, by steve@…. He was addressing concerns from those of us
who were stunned when LR came out. LR told us about secretors and
non-secretors, and changed the food lists around.

Ghee - need help

Thursday, April 14th, 2005

Hi All,
Excuse my ignorance and I know it is somewhere in the archives or wherever but
I need info on Ghee and do not have the time to go searching.
Family (adult children) is home and want to cook with butter and put it on
veggies and in recipes etc…gourmet cooks, some of them. I have avoided all
milk products for several years but it is time to discover ghee.
Questions
1. How do I make it?
2. do you do a whole lb of butter at a time, fix it and keep in fridge?
3. will it taste like better on the veggies? and will it act the same in
recipes? If we had lobster would it taste like butter as we dipped the pieces in
it?
My DH is usually blood type (more or less compliant) but adult childrren are
not interested - except one - yet. Most of them are A’s however and do not eat
that far from their type for the most part. They are more vegetarian… unlike
