While on the calcium trip…

Thursday, April 28th, 2005

Since we’re on the calcium trip…
I get skipped heart beats (very scary), I’ve been told they’re “just”
PVC’s and not to worry about it (til it gets worse - like I pass out or
something - sheesh) - anyway I’ve given up all caffeine (except a VERY
occasional slide usually chocolate <grin
still get them.
They’ve done blood work, etc and calcium, etc are all within “normal”
limits. Thyroid is normal. (I thought I’d be low since my temps are very
low and I’m cold most of the time). (although skipped hbs are usually a
hyper- not hypo- symptoms generally.)
Any suggestions?

aspartame?

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

Aspartame is an AVOID for all blood types. But of course like everything else -
we make our own decision concerning it.

this woman’s research finds nothing wrong with aspartame! Any other thoughts on
this? I was not of the impression that there was an artificial sweetener on the
market that did NOT mean serious

HB Only Foodlist

What food list, where? What could you possibly be talking about.
<smile
Thank goodness I’ve never liked gin. Yuk! Those danged juniper trees!
Maybe the pollen isn’t an avoid…
I will salivate this weekend and send in my sample next week. I will
soon know if I will join the ranks with the likes of Axel or the
nonnies.

supplement question

Saturday, April 23rd, 2005

I just bought some 5HTP caps/tablets?, Licorice Root caps and Omega 3
gel caps. How many mg should I take of each, and when? Before, with
or after meals, any particular time of day, etc.
Should I add them one at a time and see if there are any reactions? I
noticed a few folks talking about headaches after 5HTP.
Thanks! E Long

butter v. ghee

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

Hi Karen,
Ghee is just pure-D butter fat, it’s like melted gold. (my interpretation) The
harmful milk solids have been taken out…skimmed off during the process of
making ghee. The protein solids stay on the bottom of the pan. When I was
first learning to make ghee, I posted a question on another BB asking if one
could use the “stuff” that was skimmed off. I got a quick reply…”best you
trow (accent intended) it away…” <s
I can’t imagine using it.
Butter has milk solids… ghee does not. Ghee tastes much better for seasoning
cooked veggies, and much better on spelt bread.
~~ Kymarose
PS I make my own ghee from farm fresh cream that I buy from a local dairy. If
I had to buy it at the HFS.. paying that price… I may not use it daily as I
now do.

RebounderI-TRAMPS - Karen M

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

I have a cheap one. I think you get what you pay for. I don’t think
that I’d pay $250 for a rebounder, but if it were my primary vehicle
for exercise, I would research and purchase the best one that I could
afford.
A number of years ago I purchased a bicycle thinking that “if I get
into it, I’ll invest in a good bike, gear, etc…” The problem was
that I didn’t enjoy it because I didn’t have a good bike, gear, etc…
This year, I did some research and invested $600 in a bike (a $900
bike on sale) and another $300 in gear. Quite an investment, but I
rode A LOT this year - more than I would have/ever did on my $80 bike
from Sears. I live about 1 mile from a wonderful preserve made just
for biking and running. I lived here 3 years with that $80 bike from
Sears and logged about 30 miles, total. This year alone I logged over
300 miles on my new bike, including biking some 15 miles to work (and
another 15 miles home!) Some will say a bike is a bike is a bike, but

walnuts and bananas are still listed as beneficial in the typebase. My
understanding is that this was a printing mistake, that they are indeed
beneficial :-) Taz
