huge spontaneous post that is too good not to sha

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2005

Here is a huge post of mine that I ended up making on the BB. It was so good,
came out so well and spontaneously that I can’t help myself! I have to post it
here for the people of my… more immediate BT family. Not that I’m getting
mushy-gushy emotional or anything… This came out in a huge mind-burst, very
complete, very lucid. Elaborations developed as I finished writing it as they
usually do but this is a piece of work I think I will treasure as one of my
“early works”. Vain I know, but this stuff, these various bits and pieces of
information just sit in my mind, fermenting over time and it is such a relief to
see them coalesce and crystallize into a nice piece, don’t you think?
Here it is:

Welcome Debbie!
We are the “nice” O list.
I too was a veg till last year.
I suffered continual exhaustion and severe chronic sinusitis with frequent
infections and flu like complaints. My belly (and I am 5′7″, 115 lbs) was
distended like 7 months pregnant.
It sound unbelievable, but within 4 days after stopping wheat, corn, dairy my
sinusitis was 90% cured and my belly was flat again. The benefits continue.
Read “Live Right” and try to comply for awhile…it may change your life.
And the cravings from “avoids” disappear very quickly. I was astounded at
that!
Also, everyone is different. I personally use aloe Vera gel externally and
find it’s wonderful. But it is an avoid for Os! Go figure…
God luck and be prepared to have energy to party the night away!!!

<<What is cilantro pesto?>>

Saturday, February 19th, 2005

Teresa:
I always add chopped walnuts to my pesto, about 1/2 cup for every cup of
olive oil and every 2 cups of basil leaves(or parsley, spinach, cilantro,
red peppers, etc) ….and I put pine nuts on top…but I DO use grated
Locatelli, which is a sheep’s milk cheese.
Why is cilantro supposed to be so beneficial?
RE the BREAKFAST challenge:
Lots of compliant cereals at HFS….besides puffed rice there are flakes,
etc made from millet (also puffed), amaranth, quinoa, spelt. One can add
dried fruit, some almonds, rice milk or soy…..voila….compliant breakfast
with your fruit and lemon water. Or have your own compliant ingredients and
mix up a whole batch as a personal granola…use as a snack.
RE SNACKS: go to an Asian store…dried green peas and rice crackers and
assorted compliant munchies are available there. yum.

<< Do you take the endurox pills? I tried those once didn’t really
notice a difference, but would try them again. Have you tried their
drinks.
I take the pills. Haven’t tried the drinks. I basically went from
zero to marathon in 6 months. I had not been working out and was
terribly out of shape, not to mention overweight, when I started
training for the marathon. A friend of mine had joined a marathon
training program a year earlier and asked me if I wanted to join him.
About 2/3 of the way through the training he told me that he didn’t
think I make it. After I completed the marathon, the training program
coach told me that he had his doubts as well.
I took the endurox, essentially, to prevent injury. Training programs
are supposed to escalate your training at about 10% per week, but you
have to have some basis to build on. I did not so I had to get there
and escalate my training. Basically this meant escalating at more

Welcome to ER4YT-O

Saturday, February 19th, 2005

Hi friends,
I’m new to this group - but not new to ER - practising it for two years
now and feeling muuuuuch better.
Many of you will know me from “the other”-0-group - I was wondering
where all the “oldies” were gone and heard that many of them are here - so:
hello to everybody

have I heard Dr. D speak?

Friday, February 18th, 2005

No Thomas, I would welcome the opportunity though. Karen mentioned LR gives
more detailed explanation. I do have the book, but mainly used it as a
reference to keep up with the revised food lists.
Your point about lack of scientific explanations for other food plans is well
taken. (Vegan, Hi-Carb, etc.) I became very frustrated trying to find a
food plan that made sense, given the bizarre scenarios some of them are based
on. Also, in reading, I forget if Dr. D. made this point, or maybe it was
the Carbohydrate Addict’s people: that a lot of what is accepted as fact,
and taught in our schools to nutritionists, doctors, etc, is based on the
infamous food pyramid we have all seen, that is endorsed by US health and
agricultural agencies. But guess how that happened? Various agricultural
and food production interests lobbied Congress, and the folks with the most
money won. That’s when I just gave up on “scientific theories”, and started
looking around, at which people I observed to be healthiest in mind and body,
and asked them what their eating plan/health plan is. They were all either

isolated, distressed people in book-sized life-ra

Friday, February 18th, 2005

People! I have seen with my own eyes the first person who is isolated,
distressed, seeking help, seeking friends, seeking people like us and asking for
an on-line community much like ours posting on the BB! There are going to be
people on the BB looking for a group, something more “personal”… or
personable? They were inquiring into this because of the recent alterations made
at the Big Site (if you know what I mean). Though it is wise to excise a
malignant tumor we are left more “invisible” to the world… what to do? I hope
Dekany’s new board (which looks like it has great potential) gets off to a
lively pace and this mailing list remain strong. But what should we do? [looking
around at the 600+ group of people in the cyber-world] we are like an isolated
flock of people… are we like a cult (shaklee cult anyone?!?), secretive, with
special “recruiters” to keep the herd strong? Do we become a classic example of
exclusivism, becoming a more private group with a growing sense of superiority?
Well, on a related thought… it sure was humbling to see all those hundreds of
people who don’t post much… but are listed as members nonetheless. I wonder
