<< Do you take the endurox pills? I tried those once didn’t really
notice a difference, but would try them again. Have you tried their
drinks.
I take the pills. Haven’t tried the drinks. I basically went from
zero to marathon in 6 months. I had not been working out and was
terribly out of shape, not to mention overweight, when I started
training for the marathon. A friend of mine had joined a marathon
training program a year earlier and asked me if I wanted to join him.
About 2/3 of the way through the training he told me that he didn’t
think I make it. After I completed the marathon, the training program
coach told me that he had his doubts as well.
I took the endurox, essentially, to prevent injury. Training programs
are supposed to escalate your training at about 10% per week, but you
have to have some basis to build on. I did not so I had to get there
and escalate my training. Basically this meant escalating at more

than 10% per week. The biggest difference I felt with it was that I
was never sore, my muscles were never sore. Of course, I included a
comprehensive stretching program, but others in the program would
complain about muscle soreness and I just didn’t have that problem.
This was due, as I understand it, to the usage of fat for fuel instead
of carbs, thus eliminating lactic acid build up - which causes the
muscle soreness. During the marathon, I never felt like I “hit the
wall”, although, I DID have muscle soreness the next day! Even
endurox couldn’t help that.
<< I am currently not training more than an hour, but I do plan on
training again for a mrathon. Would you do that type (60 min)of
training for a marthon?
No, when I start training for my next marathon, I’ll have to abandon
that rule.
I’m slow, too. 12 minute miles. I ran the marathon at a 13:30 pace.
Considering I started training at about a 15 minute mile… not too
bad. My goal was to finish, injury free, before they closed the
course. I made that goal. My next one will focus on having a better
time. I was training for a marathon in October, but was laid off in
June. I continued training until I found another job, but trying to
start a new job during the most intense portion of training, well, I
just didn’t have the energy for it. Something had to give, marathon
training was it.
<< I don’t think I can carry a banana and eat it at mile 15, LOL!!
Also thanks for your background, it
helps to know where people get there motivation for practicing ER4YT
and compliance levels.
The race was great because they had orange and banana slices along the
way. It’s kind of a hassle carrying a banana, but … Maltodextrin is
an avoid because it is a metabolic inhibitor. If you were very
compliant every where else and used the GU during your runs, that
would probably be okay.
I did a lot of biking this summer; I’d be gone for hours. Always took
bananas with me, although I had some Power Gel with me, too. Just in
case. I went out for a ride a couple of years ago, started exploring
and wound up gone for three hours. I completely ran out of steam,
actually had to walk my bike up hills because I was completely
depleted. I don’t want to go there, ever again.
Good luck,
Karen

Tell me why. I had good luck with this product. I’ll need more than
    this to stop using it.

I should clarify. About 2/3 of the way through, my friend told me
that he was impressed that I stuck with the training program, that he
didn’t think I’d get that far. He thought I would have abandoned the
training program earlier, but told me about this after he was sure I
was going to complete the race. I still give him a hard time about
this because I had asked him when I started, “Do you think I can do
this?” He told me, “yes.” When we had this conversation at the 2/3
point, I said, “You lied to me!” Personally, I was very glad that he
did because it might have derailed my motivation if he’d said it at
    the beginning.

CB, I used to live on homemade bread (wheat) and brie cheese. (I still miss the
cheese, even after 3 yrs, but have not had any since starting this diet) Never
    ate brekkie either.
Anyway, I used to feel like *&^% all the time, had to take naps every day.
Now I eat my meat and veggies and feel sooo much more energized. I even need to
eat breakfast now, so I have egg and Ezekial bread and green tea.

Hang in there. I was a veggie for years. Then dated a guy who grilled
chicken all the time. I caved in. That was ~14 years ago. Then read
LR4YT book last Sept. It took over a month for me to eat red meat
(hadn’t for 20+ years). I’d walk by the meat counter, then get some
chicken and fish. Finally I bought a small piece with help from the
butcher and meat counter guys. I loved it! I was afraid I wouldn’t
like the taste, that I would feel ill, etc. None of that. It was
delicious. My friends think I’m nuts! Anyway, just go slow. It will
    work out. Good luck.
