have I heard Dr. D speak?
No Thomas, I would welcome the opportunity though. Karen mentioned LR gives
more detailed explanation. I do have the book, but mainly used it as a
reference to keep up with the revised food lists.
Your point about lack of scientific explanations for other food plans is well
taken. (Vegan, Hi-Carb, etc.) I became very frustrated trying to find a
food plan that made sense, given the bizarre scenarios some of them are based
on. Also, in reading, I forget if Dr. D. made this point, or maybe it was
the Carbohydrate Addict’s people: that a lot of what is accepted as fact,
and taught in our schools to nutritionists, doctors, etc, is based on the
infamous food pyramid we have all seen, that is endorsed by US health and
agricultural agencies. But guess how that happened? Various agricultural
and food production interests lobbied Congress, and the folks with the most
money won. That’s when I just gave up on “scientific theories”, and started
looking around, at which people I observed to be healthiest in mind and body,
and asked them what their eating plan/health plan is. They were all either
doing hi protein (O is so common) or were specifically on the Blood Type
diet. So, I tried it, and it works!
Thomas, I didn’t mean to diss Dr. D., because everything he says has been
proven correct, for me at least. But, in ER, I am just saying, the manner in
which he attempts to explain his theory falls short. If one has been trained
in biology, nutrition, etc, his theories are counter to that, and my nature
is to question and test. When I did that, I found loopholes, or at least for
me, unanswered questions. I will look at LR, as Karen says. I am also aware
that Dr D. conducts ongoing research, consistently challenges his own
results, and keeps us advised of his latest findings, all of which is
credible scientific practice. I only intended to take issue with the
presentation he gives in ER, certainly not with the man, his field of study,
or his teachings, all of which I hold in high regard.
